Thinking about how, when I was a kid, I'd watch Sailor Moon at my grandparents' house in the 2000s, and the transformation scenes were so powerful that I'd sometimes have to look away or change the channel. I thought for a long time that it was because of my christian conservative upbringing, and that it was something like being afraid of "nudity"... but now as a 30-year-old trans person, I look back on that and see a little egg me struggling with how much they wanted to transform like Sailor Moon and just being totally unable to process those feelings with the limited tools that I had.
