but u don't understand the egg togepi is in is just the egg it WAS born from!! it cracks the egg and pokes its feet and arms and head out and wobbles around until it evolves (i'm p sure)

that was what i originally thought too but then i saw this gif from gen 2 and like the egg hatches completely and there is togepi inside another egg
