Eggertsville Brewhouse -- A hobby that I can share with friends.
Well, I figure that I'd start blogging about my brewing operation that I like to call Eggertsville Brewhouse. At the current moment, it's nothing serious. It's a hobby that I enjoy, and an art that I can share with friends.
I love beer. Almost all beer. Be it a BMC (Budweiser-Miller-Coors, usually an acronym used to describe a crappy beer), a crafty nano brew, and everything in-between. It's a beverage that can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be. It's a good times beverage at the most basic level and a complex catalog of flavor profiles at the other end of the spectrum. It's an art that most can appreciate, and an art that I enjoy sharing with people. I put a bit of myself in every batch and enjoy seeing the response from people when they try my beer, be it positive, negative, or neutral.
I've brewed with friends and alone. I've taught others how to brew, and have counseled others in online communities about brewing. It's enjoyable and I like to share the knowledge that I've gained by experience and through others. I love waking up at 7 on a Saturday morning, smelling that morning scent, and brewing a batch of beer. It's my zen.
Many have asked me when I'm "going pro." My usual response is that at this point in my life, its a hobby. Sure, there's a pipe dream of owning my own brew pub, but at this point in my life, it's not something that I'm seriously considering. I enjoy the hobby and others enjoy my product. That's really all that I need.
All in all, my brewing operation, Eggertsville Brewhouse, has a goal: Sharing good times over good beer.
Thanks for reading,
Marcus.
