♥: Well, Dean’s really emotionally constipated, so he’ll try to play off things with snarky humour, and try to ignore what he’s actually feeling. With that being said, he hates how that method doesn’t actually work; he hates all of the negative feelings trapped inside him, and he hates how they just keep on sticking with him. So, not being able to let out that built up of crap inside him is also another aspect he hates, because he can’t easily express some emotions. He’s so used to keeping a tight leash on his expression of rage and sadness, that at this point trying to set them free makes him feel really anxious and uneasy.
❥: A verbal way Dean would express complete trust wouldn’t be something as direct, most of the time. If the said person wasn’t present at the moment, then yeah, he might straight up say the phrase. But, expressing his complete trust to a person face to face lies more in the smaller things; like calling something “our(s)”, referring to them as “family”, or maybe things like “why wouldn’t I tell you this”, calling them “good”, etc. Long story short, he’ll be very inclusive and verbally intimate if he trusts a person.
✗: Verbally, he expresses hostility or dislike by continually insulting the person, ignoring what they say or think, finding something to counter anything they might say, and just cutting off their further opportunities for any type of development. Physically, if he dislikes a person, he’s going to avoid all possible contact with them, and might even wipe down something that they handed to him. Also, lots of eye rolling, bitchfaces, etc. If he hates someone far enough, he might be physically aggressive with them, but usually he has a tight leash on anything like that.
♡: A smell that brings about nostalgia for Dean would be the scent of flowery laundry detergent. A memory this smell brings back for him is from when he was very little; sleeping in his mom’s bed, when John was gone. Despite his young age Dean could still sense the tension and grief growing within his mother due to her rocky relationship with John, at the time, so every night John was gone, since he could walk, he’d slip out of his own bed, and crawl into Mary’s instead, not wanting her to have to spend her nights alone. The smell of that flowery laundry detergent is the one that his mom used to wash their clothes, and bedsheets. It’s a generic smell for a vague memory.
