        HE SEES THE SPIRIT BOX. he knows what it is. he’s had people use them before, hence why he’s currently hidden from view, arms folded across his chest. he hates these stupid fucking things. he clears his throat and responds. “ tator tots. ” because he likes to fuck with ghost hunters who think they can just STROLL on in to his casa. not on shane’s watch.

     sounding  professional  isn’t  exactly  james’  thing.  it’s  always  clear  to  see  he’s  easily  excited  and  just  likes  to  talk  to  people,  so  when  he  wants  to  talk  about  business,  it  can  be  anxiety  fueling  to  write.  how  does  he  sound  friendly  and  excited  to  talk  while  also  not  sounding  like  he  doesn’t  take  this  seriously  at  all?  ‘cause  ghost  hunting  is  definitely  something  he  takes  seriously!  it’s  also  been  over  a  year  since  he’s  done  anything  related  to  investigating,  not  since  robbie’s  passing.  it’s  a  big  deal  for  him  to  jump  back  in  like  this.  the  youtube  channel  he  happened  to  stumble  across  during  one  of  his  youtube  rabbit  holes  doesn’t  have  a  lot  of  subscribers,  definitely  someone  less  well  known,  but  there’s  a  certain  charm  to  it.  a  kind  of  charm  he  wants  to  bring  on  the  show,  at  least  for  an  episode.  could  be  interesting,  right?  so  it  takes  him  a  good  few  moments  to  gather  the  courage  to  actually  write  an  email. 

     “hey!  i  watched  a  few  of  your  videos  and  really  love  how  you  do  things!  you  give  it  a  much  more  human  feel  than  i’ve  seen  a  lot  of  investigators  do,  it’s  pretty  cool  to  see.  it’s  been  a  while  since  i’ve  written  an  email  like  this  so  sorry  if  i’m  rusty,  but  my  name’s  james  blaine  and  i  actually  have  a  ghost  hunting  show  called  misadventures  in  ghost  hunting!  we’re  starting  up  a  new  season  soon  and  i  was  wondering  if  it’d  be  possible  if  you’d  want  to  come  in  for  an  episode,  help  us  out  a  bit,  give  us  a  little  bit  of  advice  from  your  own  personal  experiences,  whatever  you’d  be  comfortable  with!  it  just  seems  like  it’d  be  really  cool  to  have  someone  like  you  on  the  show,  someone  who  could  sympathize  with  the  ghosts  a  bit  more.  so  if  you’re  interested,  hit  me  back  up  at  this  address.  have  a  nice  day!”
