why’s he meeting so many children nowadays? why is it always him? simon or mateo would’ve been much better suited for this kind of thing, but ... it’s him. blue clown bastard albireo cross. so, he tries to make himself as less intimidating as possible ( he’s wearing black short-shorts. he’s not very intimidating. ) when he walks up to this small boy wearing dark clothing.

“hey kiddo,” he starts, not as loud as usual. he figures the boy must be a little nervous. or something. “you alright?”

raihan smiles easily when he sees the familiar mask. it’s good to see allister again, even though raihan’s only been on koi for less than a week and he last saw the ghost-type leader during the most recent gym challenge. he may be a competitor, but raihan has a soft spot for the kid. he’s so young, yet so accomplished!

“allister! so you’re here now, too, huh?” raihan tilts himself, bending to peer down at the other leader as he steps up to his side. a friendly grin spreads over his features. “have you had any trouble?”

he doesn’t need to be holding up his alolan raichu, seeing as it can levitate itself, but he does, a cheek pressed gently against golden fur. there’s a big smile plastered on his face, as content as possible. as if nothing in the world is a problem right now.

‘ d’you wanna pet him ? he’s soft and he doesn’t mind most of the time. be careful though ! if you touch the red parts of his cheeks, he’ll give a lil zap. it’s not very harsh ! you’ll smell like pancakes though... but it’s not a bad thing. ’

“Mimi.” 

Familiar yellow creature lets out small voice as it shuffles around room, wooden tail bonking behind it. It seems to be rather cautious, shying away from anything unfamiliar or noisy. Girl follows from behind, though her eyes are trained down on her companion more than her new living quarters.

“...Mimi...” Mimikyu repeats, commenting on it’s surroundings as it goes. The chirruping call continues in a sort of rhythm... Only for it to be interrupted suddenly, noise stopping and Mimikyu halting in their steps.

Mizuki stops in turn. Still looking down, she sees a pair of feet. 

...Is this her roommate?

he screamed. you would too if you’d just been through what raihan had! being a dragon type gym leader has no bearing whatsoever on how easy one is to get freaked out when faced with a potential home invasion.

the rustling that’d come from the kitchen hadn’t been weird until raihan had left his bedroom to investigate it. he’d thought it was just wattson, his roommate, messing with something or getting something to eat. when he’d called to her at the end of the hall, all he’d seen in the complete darkness of the kitchen was two bright, purple eyes come into view, tall enough to be the height of an adult.

after his brief threat of cardiac arrest and fumbling with his phone’s flashlight, he’d found it to just be allister, sitting at his small kitchen table with a cup of tea. raihan minded himself— but he still had a lot of questions.

how had he gotten in…?
