Teresa & her husband Samuel used to live & farm in the Kenyan highlands. But in 2016, after months of constant rain, landslides destroyed their house & killed their livestock. They were forced to move to Nanyuki, where life has been a huge struggle, hustling to find menial jobs. . Najin is one of the last two northern white rhinos in the world, living at @olpejeta under 24/7 armed security. When Najin and her daughter Fatu dies, the species will be extinct. Once upon a time, the northern white rhino’s range extended through central Africa. But decades of poaching have taken its toll. And this is the tragically inevitable conclusion. . The Day May Break is the first part of a global series portraying people & animals impacted by climate change and environmental destruction.. Created by fog machines on location, the fog is the unifying visual, causing a once-recognizable natural world to fade from view. . However, these people & animals are the survivors.
