We had a really great event with Eileen Collins. She gave a short presentation, answered some questions, then did the book signing and spoke with nearly every single person who attended. She was gracious and friendly and hung out with the staff for a bit after the event even though she must have been exhausted. She had been working with the Spacewoman documentary film crew all day.
Our office manager Samantha did an amazing job getting Eileen to do the event with us and organized the entire thing. Without Samantha, it would not have happened, so big shout out to her. And a big thank you to Eileen Collins!

So, the last thing you want when getting ready for a major event is for the power to go out but there we were. The museum went dark around 10am and our book signing starts at 4:30pm. About an hour and a half after the power went out, we started discussing at what point we’d need to cancel. Fortunately, shortly after that, the power came back on again. Whew! The show will go on!

Today we set up the barn gallery for the Eileen Collins event tomorrow. This entailed moving out cases and artifacts and setting up a whole bunch of chairs. We even ran out and borrowed more chairs from a local church. It’s going to be some event!
