The Wonder Of Freedom - Julia Day/Eimear Day

A/N: Part 1/4 for @fluffbruary in September.

Walking with Eimear, watching the clouds drifting silently over the pathway framed by soft grass, Julia would marvel at the peace of the moment. They rarely get time to enjoy peace together. The kids are happy, racing ahead of the pram and Eimear laughs warmly when Julia comments on the peace. “I’m sure chaos will happen soon enough…” The elder daughter runs back to them, arms out to be picked up and Julia smiles, scooping the child into her arms, smiling at the delighted squeal the girl lets out. She’s happy, she thinks, free at last and truly wanted with her new family.

Peace and quiet is rare for them, although slowly they are getting more used to it. Even clouds couldn’t stop their happiness. Julia’s been gazing up at the sky for hours, simply watching the clouds shift and form new shapes. She’s smiling when Eimear finds her, settling by her side to gaze up at the clouds. “Why does that one look kinda like…” Eimear trails off and Julia laughs. “Because you have a dirty mind?” Her voice is soft, sweet and teasing and Eimear laughs. “Aye… you love me though.” “Always did.” Julia murmurs softly. Silence falls as they return to cloud-gazing, simply enjoying one another’s company.

A lakeside villa. Sometimes Eimear wonders how she got here, but as she rests side by side with Julia, she knows that she wouldn’t change a single thing. Julia had been tired and slightly traumatized when they came here, sometimes she still looks a little traumatized. Still, the longer they stay here, the easier Julia breathes and the more Eimear relaxes. Raising her children with her ex-husband’s mother had not been how she expected life to go, but she had to admit, she would never refuse Julia and her love. She knows, too well, that they need each other and she won’t hurt her, not for anything.

Strangers On A Train - Eimear Day/Julia Day

A/N: Part 1 of 4 for @fluffbruary​ ‘s July Prompts.

Julia still remembers the first time she met Eimear, before Eimear married Julia’s son then divorced him to marry Julia. She still remembers, because she had nearly proposed to Eimear the first time they met.

They had been strangers on an underground train in London. Julia intending to visit some museums and Eimear planning to go food shopping. The more the space filled, the closer Eimear had inched to Julia, the two finding a quiet peace in the light brushing of their hands. They had almost kissed, but drawn apart when the time came for Julia to get off the train. Later, much later, they would discuss and laugh about it. Destiny had chosen them as partners, from the start.
