Eipa showed up one night with his automaton, Urak. Both of them are thought to be automaton until one person spotted his face. Eipa is a quiet person unless angered or in a heat of passion. He is 25 with 15 years of medical work under his belt and had been traveling from place to place to get as much experience as he could. He is completely desensitized to death and rarely ever loses his composure during work. Eipa's origin and story are unknown along with Urak's, but both are extremely dead set on helping those in need, no matter what is in their way.

His skin and eyes are sensitive to direct sunlight. He and Urak wear identical full body uniforms to achieve the illusion that they are both robotic automatons.

“Κάθε φορά που θα βγαίναμε για τρέξιμο σε μισούσα λίγο παραπάνω. Πάντα τελευταίος και μακριά απ όλους μας. Ο Λοχαγός μας έριχνε για κάμψεις μέχρι να μας φτάσεις. Ιδρωμένοι, κουρασμένοι σε περιμέναμε να φανείς πίσω από τα δέντρα. Παρακαλούσα να το πάρεις απόφαση να κοπείς, να τα παρατήσεις. Ένα βράδυ ξυπνάω να φυλάξω. Ο θαλαμοφύλακας με ενημερώνει ότι φυλάμε μαζί. Κακοτυχία, σκέφτηκα, πάλι θα βρω τον μπελά μου με αυτόν. Η υπηρεσία κύλησε ομαλά. Όταν πέρασε η έφοδος τους είδες πρώτος και μου φάνηκε περίεργο. Αναγνωρίσαμε καλώς και μου φύγε ένα βάρος. Μου ζήτησες τσιγάρο, στο έδωσα. Μου ζήτησες και φωτιά. Ξεφυσάω και σου ανάβω. Δεν μίλαγα. Πήρες το θάρρος να ξεκινήσεις να μου μιλάς για σένα. Περιέγραφες το μακρινό χωριό σου με πολύ ενθουσιασμό. Για τα πανηγύρια σας, τα γλέντια, τις χαρές σας. Χαμογελούσα με την άκρη των χειλιών μου με τις εκφράσεις σου και έπαιρνες θάρρος να μιλάς. Ήξερες τι σκέφτομαι αλλά δεν σε ένοιαζε μάλλον η άποψή μου. Μου μίλησες για την μάνα σου και τα αδέρφια που είναι περήφανοι για σένα. Για την φτώχεια της οικογένειας και για τις δουλειές στο χωράφι. Άρχισα να σπάω, σε συμπαθούσα χωρίς λόγο. Πήρες το όπλο και έπαιζες με την ασφάλεια από αμηχανία. “Δεν θα κοπώ”, μου λες. “Ξέρεις γιατί; Είπα στην αδερφή μου που είναι στο καροτσάκι ότι θα της πάω τον πράσινο μπερέ να την φυλάει. Δεν μπορώ να κάνω πίσω τώρα”. Σάστισα, μου κόπηκε η μιλιά. Δεν μπορούσα να απαντήσω τίποτα. Σε κοιτούσα να περπατάς πέρα δώθε και να κάνεις οπλασκήσεις σαν μικρό παιδί. Ένιωσα τόσο μικρός μπροστά στους στόχους και το πείσμα σου… Από τότε ποτέ δεν ξανασπάστηικα που μας καψώναραν για σένα. Έβαζα και στους άλλους χέρι να μην σε κοροϊδεύουν. Από τότε είχα άλλον ένα λόγο να υπηρετώ, είχα έναν φίλο με αγάπη στην καρδιά του. Μια αγάπη που τον πήγαινε πιο μπροστά από εμάς που τον περνούσαμε στο τρέξιμο…” (πληροφορίες απο το makeleio)

Not my video...but as someone who will be taking the EIPA in the future, I found this helpful.

“Yay! Finally got results back! Have some thoughts about the exam and wanted to share some feedback I got on my test. I don't have time right now to captions...so here are the highlights:

EIPA results/feedback/comments/suggestions

1. Freelancer vs Teacher/ed terp...prosody 2. Too fast, rapid, slow down, blur 3. Not enough lag time Question about prediction skills and lag time 4. Vocab...got a 5, but KEY vocab was lower...would like a list of terms for lesson for candidate

4. No females for HS ASL...should have both female and male to choose from for S-V section of EIPA exam

5. RID gives ED: K-12, but test is only half: either elem or HS. Would like to see a comprehensive exam that covers both HS and Elem so the K-12 is valid range of skills demonstrated

Now need to take written test to get that added to RID cert list....both written and performance are required by RID for ED: K-12″

Passed the EIPA written today. That means I'm all squared up with Washington state.

10 days left!

So I actually got some packing done. Mostly books and nothing is sealed up yet but I got rid of two garbage bags worth of papers, cleaned my room and found a bunch of awards I forgot I had, and finally found the title to my car.

I found out I probably cant start in the fall at the school I wanted to transfer too, but I can always just get a BA in anything and then go there for grad school. That’s an option too. I also filled out alternative pathway paperwork and Im registering for the EIPA and an interpreting conference this week. And while that is about $700, there is a good chance Ill be working soon! Finally! And I got a hold of my old mentor and she wants to get together and study/practice with me too.

So while of course I am nervous and it seems my path to becoming the most incredible interpreting ever is a lot more meandering than some, I’m going to get there. I’m going to use this opportunity to constantly remind myself that I dont need everyones approval, I have the approval from the people that matter and *I know I can do this*.
