a/n - i don’t care if Book 3 ended and concluded. I like exploring character’s feelings and motivations during points in time. 

Eir found herself watching you from a distance in the beginning, not because she did not trust you or she didn’t like you. It was because she didn’t want you to trust her, or to grow attached to her or vice versa. The pain of you dying the first time she met you was more then enough, but then you catch her watching her and smile at her, she’s reminded why she had become so fond of you in the first place.

There’s a warmth in that trusting smile of yours, that gives Eir an unusual amount of comfort. Perhaps it’s due to meeting you before in another world, getting to know you twice over, or it could merely be due to the fact that you have that impact of people. She’s seen it first hand, heroes who have hearts that have grown cold, feeling the ice melt away from the contagious warmth of that smile. 

She is the same, except it’s her fear and worry that seems to disappear, fleeting into the deep depths of her mind, making her forget all about them momentarily. In those moments, she finds the distance between the two of you slimming, to the point where she can hear how optimistically you speak with Alfonse and Sharena, how confident you all are about victory. When you say it, it seems like a real possibility, part of Eir believes in you words and thinks that it could be done, her mother could be defeated and you could be saved.

Despite the fact that history is scarily close to repeating itself once more.
