This is the face of someone who has just realized three things.
He never sent his dad the text to leave the back door unlocked.
This wasn’t his house.
The lady inside was staring at him like he was really strange.
“I should uh, go. Long day, wrong door.”
“It’s not as bad as it looks.”

“Can you tell Aunt May that I’m not going out picking fights again? Cause I came home with a black eye last night and she started lecturing me.”
Conor knows she isn’t from the area. There’s just something about her that he can’t put his finger on, something that tells him she’s not what she seems to be. In the pit of his stomach, he somehow knew she wasn’t anything to be afraid of though. So Conor didn’t slip to the other side of the bus stop, he stayed somewhat close to her under the slight shade of the bus stop shelter.
“You heading somewhere?”

Continued from here:
He laughed with her as they stumbled into the inn, soon scooping her up into his arms once they had made it upstairs. “Only fair a lady be carried to her room, aye?” he asked smiling at her, having to lean against the wall to steady himself. Truth be told, her words were working quite well on him in his drunken stupor.
