WAVE

Up roared the spell’s mighty wave, incandescent as the sun after rain. Dylan shrieked and flung a hand over their eyes-- felt the necklace suck in huge thirsty gulps of the stuff even as the guards to their left and right screamed and burned away.

WIND

“Dylan!” shrieked Eisfara, cutting a jagged curve beneath the boiling clouds, but already their voice was changing shape again to a crow’s cry; already the storm’s surly wind was rising. “Dylan, Dylan, Dylan! Caw, caw, caw...” 

WATER

Far below the river ran its busy, merry course, chuckling and gurgling over private jokes and stacks of stones, twinkling in the sun where its watery robes spread thin as green glass, foaming in falls finer than any lady’s lace.
