Berbahan bakar "solar". Generic trademark of Pertamina's diesel fuel, which came from minyak solar, from Dutch solaarolie, from English solar oil. The association developed from the usage of such petroleum product as fuel for solar oil lamp. Solar oil : a paraffin oil used as an illuminant and lubricant.

In a diesel engine, there is no spark plug. Instead, the engine compresses air inside the cylinder to a very high pressure. When air is compressed that much, its temperature rises significantly. At the right moment, diesel fuel is injected into that extremely hot compressed air. The fuel ignites automatically because of the heat.

Diesel engines use much higher compression ratios, which makes them generally more fuel-efficient and better at producing high torque at low speeds. For example, imagine a company with: 1 billion yuan in profit, 10 billion current shares, stock options that could create another 2 billion shares. The basic EPS would be 0.10 yuan (1 billion ÷ 10 billion). If those options were exercised, there would be 12 billion shares. The diluted EPS would then be about 0.083 yuan (1 billion ÷ 12 billion).

The cetane number measures how short the ignition delay is—that is, the time between when the fuel is injected and when it actually starts burning. If a diesel fuel has a high cetane number, it ignites more easily and more quickly after injection.
