While I'm posting pics of my shark babies encountered during my fall research project, here are the last 2 sharks that my friend and I caught at the end of last October just before our season came to a close. Here we have a 7-foot male sand tiger (left) and a 6-foot female sand tiger (right); both were total sweethearts and stayed extremely calm while we de-hooked and measured them. As with all of our shark babies, these two were released promptly after data collection and swam off strongly. I love them so much and wish these beauties only the best!!💙🌊💙

Poseidon (left) and Athena (right), the first two sandbar sharks I've ever gotten to handle and release!! These are the two sharkies mentioned in my previous text post about my research project last fall. These two were measured, implanted with M-tags (a type of dart tag), and promptly released less than 5 minutes after being brought onto the beach. I love these sweet babies dearly and hope that they're doing well!!💙💙🌊
