The Selfish Giant
1. Give evidences to show that the Giant was selfish.
Based on the story, there are some evidences to show that the Giant was selfish. For example, we must not be selfish because we will need others help too. I noticed that the Giant did not allow anyone plays in his garden but in the end he let the children to play and bring the Spring to his garden. is caring. This remind me of the Giant who built a high wall around his garden to forbid others. Moreover, other people won't like us if we are selfish. I was impressed by how the Autumn did not give any golden fruit to the Giant's garden because he was too selfish. (130 words)
2. What are the messages that you get from the story?
Based on the story, there are some messages that I got from the story. For example, we must share our things with others because it will make everyone happy. This remind me of how the children were so happy when the Giant let them play in his garden. Furthermore, we must not be selfish. I never thought that the Giant will help the boy to climb up the tree and the boy kissed the Giant as an appreciation. Moreover, other people will dislike you if you are selfish. I noticed that the Autumn did not want to give golden fruit to the Giant's garden because he was too selfish. (119 words)
3. Were you surprised with the ending? Why or why not?
Based on the story, I am not surprised with the ending because I believe that every good deeds will be repay with good things. This remind me of how the Giant's garden became beautiful again after he let the children play in his garden. Furthermore, I knew that the Giant will realize about the importance of the children. I noticed that the Spring did not want to come to the Giant's garden because there were no children playing. In addition, I am happy that the Giant died under the tree while covered with white blossoms after all of the good things he had done for the children. I was impressed by how the boy who he help to climb the tree bring him into the paradise. (124 words)
