Is kamai one of those magic systems where all paths to immortality are necessarily evil in some way (such as stealing others' lifespans, which I think is the only example you actually show)? Or were the original forbidden workings those that granted immortality just because Immortality Is Evil In And Of Itself, or they were afraid that if kyma lived too long even without doing evil things there'd be another Purge, or something like that?
I’m not the original creator of Barashi, so Julie may have had reasons of which I’m not aware for this. It is consistent with how forbidden workings are declared that one kind of immortality was considered evil (and immortality itself obviously tempting enough to inspire evil) and all forms of immortality were blanket banned, though.
