feeling the sidewalk shake with every passing of a car, the raven haired girl squinted her eyes from her hazards blinking in her direction. she'd been stuck on the freeway for about twenty minutes, unsure of what to do or who to call. she didn't have any she thought would answer. not her mom, that was for sure. and estee wasn't really the girl who had any friends, let alone one's that would come and pick her up on the side of the highway. shaking her head, she held back tears. she had nothing. and even worse, she had no one to call. looking down at her phone, she absentmindedly scrolled through her contacts before tentatively pressing down on the number she swore she'd never call. listening to the dial tone, estee wondered if he’d even answer. after her fall from grace, she wasn’t sure she had anyone in her corner. breathing out, she heard the other line answer. “ look -- before you hang up, i just ... i just need someone to talk to. i’m on the freeway, my car won’t start, and i’m just ... i guess i just need to hear your voice. ”
