My thoughts on the summer reveals
Basic stuff out of the way first, new starter set and paint set, its the Armageddon stuff in blue. The pre-painted terrain in cool for people who don't like painting terrain I guess.
The new Trukk and Mek aren't breaking new ground but they don't really need to, its nice to have them in the new style.
A major Warriors of Chaos redesign wasn't on my my card. It seems the main goal was to distance the range from AoS's Slaves to Darkness, done mainly through more easily rankable poses, more trim and a generally bulkier frame.
As a big AoS fan even I'll say i think I'd rather put these guys on circle bases rather than use the current StD range.
Also the two headed chaos dragon looks awesome.
GW has not disappointed on the Silly Little Guys front
Having more Custodes vehicles in plastic is nice but there's not much to say, they're remade 1 to 1 from the resin version.
I've not got much to say on the ogors, they've never really been my thing and the new models stick very closely to the established aesthetic but...
The big guy with the huge pot of soup being lugged around by one of the ghoul-looking ogors does a good job leaving an impression. I believe this is the Mawtribes first named character and it encompasses the faction vibe very well.
And last, the thing that took me the most by surprise...
The Exodites got models. After like 30 or so years.
I was not expecting to see Dragon Knights back, ever.
They've been redesigned to look less like dinosaur-like, likely to make them feel more sci-fi and less like a formerly real Earth creature. Mounted units in Kill-Team would've felt odd if they didn't announce you could take dreadnoughts in the last announcement.
The paint scheme is very Lumineth Realm-Lords.
Sorry for the long-ass post, I just wanted to rant about my thoughts somewhere.
