Of Alchemists and Magic

Whiterun's alchemist always seemed to think Madeline had some disease or another, and her latest visit to the woman was no exception. Commenting that her customers looked pale and may have ataxia was just a business practice, one that Madeline used herself at times when peddling potions to cure disease, but just how grating the practice was to those accustomed to it tended to slip her mind. She left the shop feeling mentally exhausted from convincing the woman she was perfectly fine and needed nothing other than the ice wraith teeth she arrived for, sighing and not quite paying attention to where she stepped. Shopping was always a chore, especially in this searing midday sunlight. Despite wearing her cowl to protect her from its damaging rays, she still felt its heat beating down upon her.
