Moment of truth: I had never played Valkyon’s spin-off until half an hour ago 

*Buuuu insults and vegetables thrown at me from the crowd*

Yeah yeah I KNOW but I wanted to play it on Valkyon’s route and only today I got to episode 23.

I have many feels.

First of all,  I started the episode thinking that I should be kinder and more open-minded towards Miiko, in the end she’s just trying to do her best and gets lots of hate. Then I read this:

SOMEBODY STOP ME RIGHT NOW I’M GOING TO KILL HER

Apart from this, I always love Valkyon’s sexy times, despite the odd writing, for me he’s just the best out of the routes currently available in that department.

And he’s so sweet! So big and burly with the tiniest cutest companion, so affectionate

Only a good and kind person could choose Floppy as companion

Then an idea started popping into my mind, how could Lance go from this

to this

in a relatively short amount of time?

What if... he’s contaminated by the crystal? I seem to remember that he attacked and partially destroyed the crystal before disappearing, what if a shard of it is in him? And we know that people corrupted by the crystal don’t last long, but he’s a dragon, he’s stronger, much stronger than average, and from the way he reacts to things, and his maniac laughs, there is some insanity in him, a madness he didn’t have before.

We have never seen him without his armour (a real disgrace) what if there is a crystal shard somewhere in/on his body? I wonder if this injury in his neck may be related.

I’m not necessarily invested in this theory, I like him whether he’s really insane and evil or not, but if the cause of his most despicable actions was indeed external it would give BV an “excuse” not to kill him just to redeem him. And Erika has said multiple times that infected people shouldn’t just be killed, now she’s strong enough she would probably be able to cure them from the crystal’s corruption.

I'm so antsy for Eldarya 28, there so much stuff hanging at the moment, the murders, where's Valkyon (and Lance).... the wait is unbearable 😭 we haven't seen Valkyon in so long, we're bound to see him next episode, right? And Lance too... right? 👀

Anon we haven’t seen our dragons in 6 MONTHS!! Yesterday I was missing them so much that I ended up looking for another picrew and made them

Then I went ahead and made everyone else too (I was procrastinating big time)

But yeah we’re definitely seeing both because of the letter we received at the end of episode 27, also I still have my Colaia theory that I want to see either confirmed or confuted.

But most of all, I need to know about the changes they have in store for the game.

It’s been a long time since I started feeling like there is a bigger badder guy out there.

We know that Naytili learned to corrupt the crystal from someone.

We know that Mary-Anne had a teacher for all her messed-up experiments.

Colaia apparently roamed alone in a wild state for years but also learned about explosions and was a strong enough fighter that she almost killed Enthra who is supposed to be a very capable warrior.

Lance, after years of being a good, loving person just snapped and killed his companion because he had learned the truth about the Blue Sacrifice. Truth stored in some books in the library that only he had somehow found and not even the people who worked in there every day knew about.

Leiftan has an obscure past but he also had to have someone moulding him if he lost his parents as a child.

My opinion is that there is a mastermind behind all this, someone manipulating the situation, could be Dagon or someone else.

My predictions remain the same:

In episode 29 we save Leiftan.

In episode 30 there’s the fight against Lance, at the same time the world is dying. Lance looses, he possibly has a change of heart and Eldarya has to be saved through a new sacrifice. Either Erika sacrifices herself alone, or both she, Leiftan and Lance sacrifice, the “bad guys” effectively redeeming themselves.

Season 1 over.

Season 2 starts with Erika’s return. In my opinion all routes will start from scratch, maybe memory loss is involved. Leiftan and Lance will also be back and we start the game with 5 routes and this mastermind as the new big bad.

This is what logic tells me is going to happen. But who knows, this company doesn’t work on logic.

omg i'm so fucking excited about eldarya! I used to hate it a lot, but after I watched each episode it slowly became my favorite game! ( well DAI is better oops

Well... I am more worried than excited at the moment, because I worry the game is going to end soon. And tragically. Like another sacrifice to save Eldarya. Writers these years like bad endings, it makes them feel edgy.

But I see a silver lining, other than the thousands of hints to a s2, I also contacted BV and got this reply

I asked: hello, I have the impression that Eldarya's plot is reaching a major turning point, is the game going to end this year or there's more story to tell?

Reply: some major events are indeed ongoing in Eldarya! You will learn more soon ;)

I see this as a chirp reply with the wink and such, I think they hint to those famous surprises, if the game was ending I would expect something more somber.

I don't know... french people what do you think?

Playing the event it's pretty clear that it's mostly aimed at new-ish players, it's set before eposode 18, and I'd say probably even before that. Not only the questions are pretty basic (like in which Guard am I?), but we all start with Ezarel's first question where he acts like a dick (albeit a lovable one), exactly how he used to talk to Guardy in the first half of the game.

This not only makes sense in terms of the illustration, Erika is still single (and, anyway, events are all AU), but also solves the problem "dead" Leiftan without accidentally spoiling episode 29. This is probably the main reason whay it was designed this way I guess.

Also, I feel like they invested the smallest amount of time possible, one illustration and the same board game as in MCL, they must have recycled the same code. I hope this means that they are focusing on these amazing changes we were peomised. It also prooves that there's no need to invest a crazy amount of time to get a quality event, since this one is pretty good imho.

Also, I can't help noticing that after 2 events in a row with ML's illustration system, this time we were spared and I wonder if it means something for the future of this game.

This could be how we’re going to save Leiftan, he did have a sort of heart attack.

Maybe the whole soulmates thing could also play a role, Erika’s soul could be anchoring Leiftan’s there, like Tihn and Yeu. (Assuming they really are soulmates and Leiftan hasn’t been making all that up in his head)

do you really think we won't have lance? *cries* I hate this

Hey I know nothing, I always try to prepare myself for the worst because I’ve been burned too many times. Everything points to the fact that this is not ending well…

I mean… Aleja getting married? The Aleja who is the self-insert of a member of staff who doesn’t work for BV anymore? We all know what happened the last time…  🙄

And the vision showing Erika entering the Crystal… I did say we were going to have to sacrifice ourselves and I still believe it. Everything happening in this episode has kinda confirmed all my theories.

Lance will be defeated next episode and probably die while at the same time redeeming himself, there’s no doubt in my mind about this. Of all the baiting and messed up things they have done with his character there is one constant factor, they kept insisting that there’s still good in him, that his real personality is not bad and all the worst things happened more by accident than his own will. Redemption is the one hill I will die on. Unfortunately these days redemption means sacrifice and death, and those bloody wings from the vision are not encouraging. I believe he’s going to die a noble death.

However

I’m also fundamentally an optimist, and I want to believe in a second season. I’ve smelled a second season coming since a year ago, logic points to the fact that the story is not over.

And, if indeed there’s a S2…

How stupid would they be not to include Lance? Way more than half of the fandom wants him, they have realised that by now. This is a fantasy game, there are dozens of ways they could make up to revive Lance. Fanfnir could do something useful for once, and gift him his vital essence or something like that, he always believed Lance should be saved.

So this is my theory: 

S1 with a bittersweet ending, where bittersweet means a shit ton of blood and death but Eldarya is saved thanks to sacrifice. So what I would define tragedy because I really don’t care about saving Eldarya, but apparently that’s the point of the game. And then we have S2 where all routes are still there but start from scratch. LANCE IS INCLUDED.

That’s what I’m telling myself to keep my sanity intact.

I really like this idea, Erika to the rescue for once! And I would love to see Ykhar again, she may shed some light into this fishy situation.
