i had so much damn fun doing this. i used krita for the salad's eyes and teeth, but everything else i did in magma.

ive also been experimenting with texturing because i avoided that vehemently these past few years, but it really does make a world of difference even if its just some messy grimy lines and rakes. i want to get better at backgrounds too someday

anyways does anyone know the strat for killing elder thornbacks besides 2-3 full ra-ta-ta-tas from a safe distance

Long post

Got to the 5th layer doing, okay, but low on food. I quickly ran into 2 thornbacks, got in a scuffle with them, came out with only minor injuries. Not sure if it was because of that scuffle or something else, but eventually my right hand got infected, despite putting antiseptics on it. I realized it was probably because I was hungry, I tried to eat whatever I could find, and using antidepressants to help with my mood, but I just kept getting sick and throwing up (I realize now that the antidepressants were increasing my sickness, probably should have just saved those given my mood wasn't that bad). Eventually at around, I think 1200 meters depth, my hunger hit 0, and then shortly after, while trying to find food, an elder thornback showed up below me. I was in no condition to fight it, and ran back up a short distance, hoping it would stop chasing me. I found a leadbush I missed, but as I was trying to mine it the elder showed back. I managed to jump down past it, made it back to where I first saw it and decided: "I need to get as far away from it as FAST as possible." So, I jumped down the hole the elder made. Fell to about 1350 meters depth, hitting a couple things on the way down. Landed basically on a cave tick nest, so I jumped down again and fell a bit further trying to get away. Managed to fight off the few cave ticks that followed me down that far. At this point, I was in a bit of a ditch and decided to try to assess myself.

Minor bleeding and bruising basically everywhere, dislocated thigh, right hand still infected, and still starving. patched my bleeding up and I tried looking around for food in the ditch I ended up in but there was only some water. I soon realized that I was just screwed, injected all that remained in opioid syringe I found, which was still mostly full, and waited for death hoping maybe I get last stand. I didn't. This run ended yesterday, and at the time I wasn't planning on posting this run. But after having a dream that involved running from an elder thornback, I'm posting this now.
