This scene during the awards ceremony hit me the hardest, because where as Ragatha had Kinger there to support her in her lowest point, Jax has nobody to support him, and it's nobody's fault but his own. And I think he realized that.

He adopted the self-destructive idea that they're all cartoon characters now and who they are and used to be doesn't matter anymore. He pushes people away to prevent breaking that illusion and to stick to the character archetype he created for himself.

Pomni's new, likes him, and straight up showed him the opportunity to stop with the character archetype bullshit for the first time in years, but he blew it and pushed her away, resigning himself as what he presents himself as - The Funny One™.
