Albus was so stressed he had found a grey hair starting to grow on his temple. He was seventeen years old and starting to go grey. How was that fair? He had to keep up his image or his girlfriend would dump him and he’d be ruined. The not knowing of it all was like to drive him crazy. He had sent in his application over a month ago and not heard anything since. Rose hadn’t heard from the Auror program either, so he had that to keep him sane. She thought submitting her application under a fake name would fool them, but he had known better. He was just waiting for his father to owl him asking him when he had decided on the Department of Mysteries.
Honestly, the part he was dreading the most was finding out. Even though he needed to know, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know the answer. Sure, his potions OWL had been an O, and he hadn’t done too shabby on the other ones, but they could differ to his NEWT scores. There was nothing he could do about that, so he tried to push it out of his mind.
He had decided to take his broom out and fly a bit. The weather was pretty fair for March, especially Scotland in March. A jumper was all he needed, and he was out and in the air. It was nice to feel adrenaline, something other than apprehension. The feeling was short lived, however, when he spotted a redhead flying towards him. James. “Oi! What are you doing here again?”
