I just discovered Reports from Unknown Places, and I'm in absolute awe of how beautifully you capture the sky. I'm a long term looking at the sky enjoyer and your paintings remind me of being a kid and first falling in love with how Big it all is. This is a bit random, but you mentioned Poker Face in the tags of a post about the Knives Out mysteries (which I adore) and I'm always looking for more good mystery stories so I checked it out.

Between the clever writing, and the main character I got sucked in very quickly. I would watch 100 episodes of this show lmao. So thanks!

Homestuck

Homestuck is, and I do not say this lightly, the single most significant and influential work of fiction in my life. I was fortunate enough to have begun reading while I was already in my 20s and largely over embarrassing teenage years, and as such I have very little of the adolescent baggage attached to the work that, I suspect, informs a lot of the performative hatred of it.

Andrew Hussie, for all his many gaffes and flaws, created something that, I sincerely and without hyperbole believe, defined a generation of literature, spanning all kinds of media, from other webcomics (Kill 6 Billion Demons), YA novels (The Locked Tomb), video games (Undertale/Deltarune), children's television (Bluey, Steven Universe), sitcoms (The Good Place, Bojack Horseman), and TV dramas (How To Get Away With Murder), Homestuck's influence in the broader cultural zeitgeist is undeniable.

He even created an entire paradigm of literary/character analysis via classpecting. No I will not elaborate.

I have to be honest, I watched the unfolding discourse last night and was enthralled. I always say I hate discourse, but as soon as a Tumblr Mutual got into it I was chomping at the bit. I felt like a kid seeing my friend throw down and chanting, "fight! fight! fight!"

Whelp. Congratulations, you got me to start playing Stray Gods. It's really good, though so I'm not upset. Laura Bailey's voice is, as always, beautiful to listen to, and I was elated to hear Ashley Johnson as well (even if her character died a few minutes into the game lmao)
