How To Deal With Rude People

There is no doubt the Eleanor and Danielle have to deal with rude people and haters, but they handle it flawlessly. 

Kill them with kindness:

People who are rude are usually in a bad mood or have a bad attitude. By being nice it shows a different point of view and it usually makes the rude person stop talking to you. It may be hard to be nice to someone who is being rude to them but just know it makes you the better person in the situation.

Ignore them:

If someone is being rude to you on purpose it may be because they are trying to get a rise out of you. If you ignore them completely and don't care about what they're saying to you then they will leave you alone.

Be a role model: 

If you don't want someone to be rude to you then do NOT be rude to them. It's simple; treat others the way you want to be treated.

Being Sassy

There is no doubt that Eleanor is sassy; fans have even said "Sass masta from Manchesta." There is an amount of sass that every dancer needs for rhythm so no doubt Danielle has her sassy side as well. Being sassy is easy peasy but it may appear harder for those of us who tend to be shy or an introvert. However it is very simple.

Confidence 

Whenever you talk to someone who is sassy they always have a level of confidence that allows them to be bold and cheeky. Some people are normally loud and lively making it easy for them to be the "sass masta," but even the quite people can confident. Just know what you're going to be sassy about and own it. If you say something that someone tries to out sass you about, bring in the confidence and sass them back.

Knowing the difference between Being Sassy and Being Rude

Being sassy is a great ability to have because it can make people laugh, make you more confident, and can even be used while flirting. But sometimes people may take it too far or someone takes it the wrong way as being rude. This is simple to avoid. Do not say anything that you know will hurt someone. For example, if a friend asks how they look in something just be honest with them, do not try and make a sassy comment because you don't know what to say. Your friend would rather here the truth than a sassy comment that will make them feel bad. 

Knowing when to be sassy

There are different times when being sassy is not okay. It's times like speaking to an employer/customer, job interview, talking to teachers, etc. Pretty much any time you need to act professional being sassy is something I would steer clear from. There are some of us that just can't help it because it's part of our nature (*cough* me *cough*) but it is very important to know what level of sass match what situation/person. For examples, job interview: no/low level, in class: funny/respectable level, with friends: go crazy.  

Dealing with sassy people

Some people just are not sassy nor do they want to be, but 9 times out of 10 there is a sassy person in their life. The best way to deal with sassy people is never let anything they say affect you negatively and if they say something you don't like, tell them. I am a very sassy person and my friends always tell me that I am the funniest person they know because of it. So when something is funny, laugh. If sassy people just completely annoy you, avoid them because they're not going to change because you don't like it.

Social Networks

Social networking is something that has taken over our lives. You may not believe but think about it, how many times a day do you check Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr? So many times you probably don't even realize it, but it's okay! It's 2013, social networking is part of this generation so indulge in it, but be careful with what you post because once its online anyone can see it. Danielle and Eleanor collectively have over 4 million followers on Twitter and they are smart about what they post. So follow these tips to be smart about social networking.

Facebook:

Facebook is huge. Most of the time Facebook is where we all connect with classmates, cohorts, and extended family. It's great because it allows you to see what's new in each others lives and keep up to date. But with any type of social media, especially Facebook, we need to be careful about who we are talking to and what we post. We are all familiar with Catfishing which is becoming more and more popular. When meeting new people online, it can be dangerous, but there is a chance that it is alright. So be completely cautious and never accept a friend request from someone you do not know.

Twitter:

Twitter is a lot of fun. It allows you to connect with people all over the world, including celebrities if you're one of the lucky ones. When you think about it, Twitter is just a bunch of status updates. So my advice for posting on Twitter is that it is possible to post too much. We do not need to know what you are doing every second of every day. When posting, be nice and do not post anything you wouldn't want your grandmother to see.

Instagram:

Oh instagram, how I love thee. My favorite part about instagram is the ability to have some form of connection with celebrities (*cough* One Direction). There are some things that you should steer clear from. First thing, the over hashatgger. I understand we all like having followers and people liking what we post but when you have a picture of a flower and you hashtag things that do not even relate to the picture, that's too much. Most importantly be careful of what pictures you put up. You do not want to post anything that would make you come across in a bad way, hurt anyone, or illegal acts. Once its online anyone can see it. Eleanor and Danielle post pictures of themselves with friends and places they've been. Be smart about what you post.

Tumblr:

Tumblr, we all love it. There are millions of different blogs all with different themes, fandoms, and styles. Tumblr is what you make it. The only advice is, keep the negative to yourself. Daily I see Larry vs. Eleanor and things like that. While on Tumblr, or any social media for that matter, yes express your opinion but do not start a fight or bully anyone about it.

Basic Social Media Knowledge:

Do not bully anyone. Let's all be nice and you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything. As for those who receive any kind of bullying online, tell someone about it if its bothering you. But if you do not want to tell anyone then do not let the haters get to you. Just remember they are just cowards behind a key board. Think of how Eleanor and Danielle deal with it. With haters they ignore them or kill them with kindness. Find the silver lining in the situation; it will make you a stronger person and think what Danielle did. Danielle is now an ambassador for the Cybersmile Foundation. Keep your head held high and keep yourself surrounded by good people. Be careful what you post and do not fight online. Once you post something, it's out there forever. Fighting online is pointless and will get you nowhere.

Travel

There are different kinds of travel, day trips, short trips, and extended trips. Each are fun but each have different packing necessities and types of travel. Eleanor and Danielle travel a lot and because of this have become masters at packing!

Day Trips:

Day trips can range from a trip to a family reunion out of state or a spontaneous trip to the city. While on a day trip there isn’t much that needs to be packed. Every day essentials will do just fine; pretty much anything you would have in your hand bag. If you are going somewhere special and specific for your day trip (concert or an event) then pack what you feel is necessary to bring; camera, jacket, etc.

Short Trips:

Short trips can range anywhere from a weekend to a three week vacation. These kind of trips need a bit more scheduling and packing involved. Packing for trips can be overwhelming, trust me I travel a lot and I know, but it is a lot simpler when you realize that you do NOT need your whole wardrobe with you. Break down packing in steps and make a check list. First think about where you are going and what is worn there. For example, if you are going to Hawaii for two weeks, you’re not going to need a jumper and boots. Next, think about how long you will be there. In that two weeks in Hawaii how many times are you actually going to need jeans? Not many. Once you’ve figured out how much you are going to bring the only thing left is to pack it all your suitcase. Word from the wise, girls will always pack things we don’t need, it’s in our blood, but with these tips hopefully us girls can learn not to over pack too much!

Extended Trips:

Extended trips are for those trips over seas to study abroad or spend the summer with your grandparents who live in another state. This kind of packing involves a lot more thought but the same steps are involved. Here’s the hypothetical situation: you’re a junior at a University the U.S planning to study in Ireland for the spring semester. You will be gone for four months in a new place. First step think about where you’re going, Ireland, and what exactly you are going to need. This is when a check list is very helpful. Again, do NOT pack your entire wardrobe. Pack things you know you will wear and will use. Chances are you are not going to need the floor length ball gown for anything but definitely bring an outfit to go out in. Think of the area, Ireland rains 95% of the time, it’s really smart to bring a rain coat; pack what you will need. Never forget that there are stores where you’re going so you can always buy what you didn’t bring. As for toiletries and those needs, find your local store that sells those things and buy them where you’re going. Planes have restrictions on items like that; there are travel sized items but that’s not going to get you through four months so you’re going to end up at the store regardless.

Travel Attire and Essentials:

It doesn’t matter how you travel, car, bus, train, plane, broom stick, you are going to want to be comfortable. Be comfortable but try not to look like you just rolled out of bed. Comfortable jeans and sweater or T-shirt are always how I travel. You can always change when you get where you travel to. 

When going anywhere you are going to need your wallet. In your wallet should be your ID, bank card, some cash, credit card, etc. Along with your wallet you are going to want your phone and some form of entertainment, a book or an iPod. When bringing electronic devices remember your chargers!
