food and a foolish faerie

The last thing Blake would want anyone thinking about him- if they cared to think anything at all- was that he didn’t follow through with his actions. Being a big talker and having that reputation spread only results in no one taking you seriously and a lack is respect. Blake couldn’t have that. His whole personality was built on others taking him too seriously. If no one took him seriously to begin with, his jokes and sarcasm would have no meaning or depth whatsoever. In a weird way it was kind of like the whole legacy ordeal. Without the villain there’s no true hero. He didn’t want to think to much about it because the titles were all kind of funny and confusing to him anyways, but he gave himself kudos for the good analogy.
Now he was in the cafeteria, scanning the crowd for a new kid to pick on. He made a few acquaintances here and there although he always found the princesses most fun to bother. they always, always thought that with their title came this huge power- yet they do nothing to prove or enforce that. Blake always found that hilarious to point out. They were all the same, all of the ones he had met anyways, and their expression were all the same to, once Blake got around to pointing around that their titles were just that - titles- with no meaning. The slightly dropped jaw, wave of disappointment playing over the faces.. even thought they looked pretty pitiful he always found a way to laugh. Maybe that’s what made him such a good rebel- regardless of if he was destined to be one.
Just as he was dawning on the thought of princesses he spotted Eleanor, and immediately changed his path to move towards her. He got the best reactions when he never came straight out and explained what his deal was- and planned to use that tactic to his full advantage in this case. sliding across from her, he smiled before he cleared his throat, lifted his elbows, and slowly began piecing off his food, making them into the smallest chunks possible before popping them slowly into his mouth. for him, this is what royalty was all about. Being uptight all the time even when it was unnecessary. He wanted to ask if she thought he’d gotten the prince thing down yet, but wanted to see if she’d be able to figure him out first. She deserved some kind of a chance.
