The Trump administration has paused funding for the $5 billion NEVI program, which supports EV charging infrastructure and has granted Tesla at least $31 million. The move, widely seen as illegal, is part of Trump’s broader effort to cut federally funded renewable energy projects.
🔋 Thinking about renting an EV in Bangkok? Here's what I found out.
So I've been trying to reduce my carbon footprint while traveling around Bangkok — and honestly, renting an EV instead of a regular gas car was one of the best decisions I made.
Here's why it actually makes sense:
⚡ No exhaust. No noise. Just smooth acceleration. Driving a BYD Dolphin or BYD ATTO 3 around the city feels completely different from a petrol car. Silent, responsive, and way less stressful in traffic.
🌿 You're not contributing to Bangkok's air pollution. The city already has serious PM2.5 issues. Every trip in an EV is one less combustion engine on the road.
💸 It's cheaper than you think. Daily rates start around ฿1,284/day for a BYD Dolphin — comparable to mid-range car rentals, but with zero fuel cost since charging is included.
📍 They deliver to your door. No need to pick up at a lot. They bring the car to your hotel or home in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, even the airports (Don Mueang & Suvarnabhumi).
I used Exclusive Car Rental EV — they have a solid fleet of BYD and MG EVs, all with Class 1 insurance included.
If you're visiting Thailand or just want to try an EV before buying one, this is genuinely a low-risk way to do it. 🚗✨
Although the electric car seems like a new invention, the first car Porsche created in 1898 ran on an octagonal electric motor. #FACT

Let them buy EVs!
Firefighters in Florida are tackling EV fires as many were flooded with saltwater during Hurricane Ian.
I guess owning an EV where saltwater exposure is possible, is a bad plan.
The fire will require expensive chemical suppressants or 3000 to 8000 gallons of fresh water to extinguish.
Nothing like pushing a product on people, who mostly live on the coasts, that the technology to support them is a decade or more away. When I say "technology to support them" I'm talking both about the electrical infrastructure and the safety infrastructure. More and more small and smaller towns are going to need greater and greater technologies to fight EV fires.
It’s Electric!!!
