deftones? idk man i dont think they're good at reading the room and mood
Can we as a culture just take a moment to recognize how fucked up it is Trump and Van are going to see Les Miserables, a musical all about how we deny justice to and abuse people society has rejected (such as the poor, the incarcerated, single mothers, students, etc.) and the tragically failed uprising that wanted to help people which was brutally put down while they’re calling the national guard and military in to silence people protesting against mass deportation?!?!?!?
I was wondering if the expression "tone deaf" is ableist ? (not deaf nor hard of hearing myself)
I imagine it is, but I am also not Deaf or Hard of Hearing so I would like to invite the community to tell us if it is or not.
I use it as a descriptor for members in orchestras and strings ensembles who cannot hear pitch, so, they would be “deaf” to the perception of their own tone, but that term itself is also a massive oversimplification as I’ve seen many levels of that same “tone deafness” across people I’ve played with.
In lieu of poetry, bad karaoke. Name that tune.
I know there was a LOT of plot points leading up to the Bendis all new x-men run and the fracturing of the X-men and I fully acknowledge this. But you can absolutely tell editorial didn't plan for Revolutionary Cyclops to get as popular as it did. They have STORM of all people looking at Scott breaking first time mutants out of being detained without reasoning for saving their friends lives or unintentionally activating their mutation with police forces outside, and her saying that Scott's "Extreme actions" will lead to a mutant civil war and the government creeping up on the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning I know at this point the original x men have fractured for a lot of reasons, but it truly sounds tone deaf in some ways. Even Hank going back to his teenage team to put the burden on them of all things?? Stating that Scott is going to cause a mutant genocide??
Protest Chant: "Albania belongs to Albanians! Albania is not for sale!" Plans for luxury resorts on the Adriatic Sea have long worried environmentalists. The developments are now a flashpoint for broader frustrations with the government.
It's very tone deaf when people are comparing your pain to someone else's, invalidating their entire experiences just because someone else has been through worse. Suffering shouldn't be normalized and glorified. It's painful when it's painful. It's very ignorant and tone deaf when people are telling you that they are struggling and you tell them that they should be grateful instead. It doesn't do any good that you think it is. Hear people. Support people. Pain shouldn't be measured and celebrated.
