I just taught my grandma how to make spiced and buttery baked apples with oats and brown sugar. How the turns have tabled. THE SURREAL JOY OF TEACHING YOUR GRANDMOTHER A RECIPE OLDER THAN HER GRANDMOTHER IS SWEETER THAN THESE APPLES. I HAVE STOLEN THE TRADITIONAL THUNDER OF BEING THE TEACHER; I HAVE TORN ASUNDER THE GRANDMA-GRANDDAUGHTER BAKING LAWS. IT WAS I THAT PASSED ON THE OLD FASHIONED RECIPE. POETS AND HISTORIANS WILL KNOW MY NAME AND SQUINT.
Also if anyone else wants my recipe I'LL SHARE IT WITH YOU, TOO.

Yes! I have 4 pets. A beagle-weenie named Bandit, a (we think) Catahoula-rottweiler named Dixie, a dutch rabbit named Dutchess, and a mini lop named Shakespeare.
