I've been reading a lot of gamer bro reddit threads recently, so I'll give you a two-for-one:

While the Gearbox expansions are mostly canon in my heart (except Opposing Force, because fuck Opposing Force), I'm fine with them not actually being canon and am generally not too bothered by contradictions or retcons in the Valve-made games.

I understand that the HEV suit model has a helmet. I understand that it has a HUD, which implies that the player character/Gordon is wearing a helmet. I understand that a helmet would be immensely practical, given what the HEV suit was designed to do. However, my mental image of Gordon Freeman does not include a helmet and if someone ever held a gun to my head and asked my opinion about this, I'd say that while the suit comes with one, he's not wearing it through most of the events of the games. Maybe it got lost or damaged in the rescas? Don't come for me.

I. Had a dream last night you wrote a new AU where Visser 1 and Visser 3 work together and at one point Visser 1's telling Visser 3 about how the Andalite bandits are actually humans while gesturing some seagulls in the sky and finishes off by yelling bUT THATS JUST A THEORY. A GAME THEORY. Then two seconds later she shoots seagull Marco dead and the sheer whiplash of "I can't believe Visser 1 keeps up with memes" and "Oh my god she made Eva kill her son" and I'm still thinking about it

JESUS CHRIST.  This is terrifying and I love it.  But also the emotional whiplash of comedy-horror-comedy is, like, Animorphs in a nutshell.  So yeah, I could see this happening in the random outtakes of a canon book.
