liz i like both hisoka AND pariston (yes, i know, i love the filthy nasty garbage boys) but why does pariston still feel like a more awful character even though comparatively he's done less like uhhhh murder? can you explain? can science explain?

i am bad at science but………… in my mind it’s like……….

pariston is extremely dishonest. his words contradict his actions and he always dances around people’s accusations when he’s called out. we know he’s up to no good but we don’t know exactly what or why. it’s strongly implied that he’s responsible for the drastic increase in missing (most likely dead) hunters and he just waves it off. pariston’s position of power, combined with his sleaziness, lack of morality, and scheming is much closer to real evils in our world… it really hits home.

and then we have hisoka, who on the other hand is completely upfront about being utter garbage. hisoka doesn’t hide anything – he tells people to their face what his abilities are and also that he wants to murder them. yeah we have some questions about hisoka (why is he the way he is?) but overall we we basically know what his deal is. he also has his own set of rules that he plays by and will even help the protags if it interests him. if pariston was playing dodgeball on gon’s team he would have ensured they’d lose.
