It's about as hard as acquiring any skill. I think it depends on a couple of things: your general fitness, your dedication, and your talent.
And let's be clear here, I don't believe talent to be the same thing as skill. Talent is a natural inclination towards an ability, skill is an ability that has been developed through hard work. I was naturally talented at playing the piano, for example, but it would've meant nothing if i wasn't made to sit at the damn thing and practice a half hour a day from childhood.
So in general, I can't tell you how hard it's going to be. All I can tell you is that if you want skateboarding to be a skill, you're gonna have to work yer ass off either way, talent or no.
