There is a very popular seminar going on, where nearby mushers living in the Faerghus end of the Oghma Mountains give insight to how sled dog kennels are maintained and how they can be used to transport goods during cold weather. To cap off the lesson, each of you are given your own dog, who is tethered to a heavy belt you wear, and you all must race through the snow with your dog pulling you along. The first five to get to the finish line can name one of the new puppies!

By some twist of fate, Volug finds himself at the sled dog kennels. He’s not a student, so it’s not like he’s required to attend lessons. He’s just a little bit curious about how snowy regions deal with their unique weather conditions, that’s all. Hatari is a desert nation, so it only makes sense that he would want to learn about how other nations handle trade. Really, that’s all it is. There is no other reason why he would come to see the sled dogs.
He stares down at the sled dogs, who howl and whine at him through the wire fence. They appear to be well-bred, with plush fur and large, muscular bodies. Their thick, double-layered coats are perfectly suited to frigid temperatures. Interesting. While not able to carry as much as horses, this region has adapted by using teams of dogs to carry cargo. The beorc have made good use of the canine instinct to work with the pack.
...Volug could easily outrun them all.
Volug can hardly help himself; he halfshifts and sizes up the dogs at their own level. The barking becomes even more frenzied at his wolf form. His lip curls. He is easily larger than even the largest dog. The more submissive of the dogs press themselves closer to the ground.
Volug finds himself so absorbed in taunting the dogs that he doesn’t even notice the class approaching.
