Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you? Worldbuilding! To a truly ridiculous degree! Give me a throwaway line or passing concept and I'll generate an essay on how it fits into society

Grass: What’s the biggest change you’ve made in your WIP since you started it? giving it a plot Okay for real tho, I had to drop what would have been a major plot thread. I was initially going to have our characters struggle against institutional homophobia and have the king eventually come around on it...but my beta reader/wife doesn't like those plots, so obviously that was off the table. I changed it significantly, as well as several related scenes that would've built off of it

Ice: What do you always get stuck on when writing? Transitions, especially transition dialogue. That's actually something that's been made significantly easier by writing an autistic character, I can just have him abruptly change the topic because, well, that's what I would do irl too :D

Spirit: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received on your writing? Two autistic people have said they broke down into uncontrolled sobbing from how I wrote Halt, and specifically how I wrote people supporting him, which made me extremely happy (◕ᴗ◕✿)

Water: How did you start writing? Writing fanfiction? Work frustration + reading filthy headcanons about Benedict. Complete truth. I have never written fanfic before Bridgerton. I was working on a work project late at night in May 2022 and was annoyed. So I was trolling the Benedict Bridgerton tag for stress relief and saw people talking about how they think he’d quote literature in bed and is secretly kinky, and I was like, err hell yes, that’s my headcanons too… and Sonnet #29 just fell out of my brain. So my first ever fanfic was written for those people, even tho I have no idea who they are (didn’t save the posts, like an idiot), and they probably don’t even know it exists, lol. More generally, I've been writing creatively since I was about five, but it waxes and wanes, tbh.

Fire: What’s a scene that you are dying to write? Hmm, hmm, I think I have written so many scenes at this point that none immediately spring to mind. I'd love to get the next instalment of Friends+ for my darling beta, but I think I may need to scrap what I have and start again - it's just not working. Otherwise, for Benedict... Maaaaan, I have put that pretty whore into SO MANY scenes. I don't know what else I could do with him, haha. Id like to open this one up to you and anyone reading. What scene would YOU all like me to write, for B or A? :D

Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you? In terms of characters: Benedict. Especially his dialogue - be it one of his long, impassioned speeches or when he's a filthy Benace - he just flows, he's a joy to write and so clear in my mind. In terms of writing style: I find banter fun and seems to flow easiest of all the things I write. Humour and sex are usually easy to write for me. Angst I struggle with.

Sand: What’s the softest scene you’ve ever written?

Ooth this was tough and I did thorough research (skimmed through all my non-angsty fics) and while there are a few contenders (hellooooo to the kiss/aftermath in Magic Like This/Something Like Magic) I think this Jilytober microfic wins. James doting on a pregnant Lily on bedrest is just so 🥰.

Rock: How do you deal with writer’s block?

I've really found that depending on the type of writer's block*, either taking a step back from writing and allowing myself to recharge OR challenging myself to doing some @jilymicrofics are both great ways to combat it, personally. *The different types of writer's block (for me) being 'want to write but can't' and 'I'm exhausted and drained'.

Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you?

Generally speaking, I quite enjoy dialogue and default to writing in just dialogue if I'm struggling with a scene and need to work out what the beats through it are (not so great if it's a low-dialogue moment 🤣). There's exceptions to this of course, times when the words don't come, but it's the way I find it goes for the most part.

the scene where sirius finds out about jegulus!!!! it's gonna be amazing honestly

i'm also very excited for [redacted] to show up bc she's such a fucking firecracker

and for the plot twist to happen!!!! it doesn't quite affect the story but it's something that's going to make you put the phone down for a few seconds hahaha

oh and also in unbreakable heaven there's a very particular scene happening in a car that i can't wait to get to, it's one of my favourite scenes i have ever planned

Clouds: How clearly do you picture a scene before you start writing it down? Sometimes I 'watch' the whole thing in my head before I start putting text to screen and sometimes I'm typing furiously, trying to keep up with the details in the brain movie as they happen for the first time.

Space: Where’s your favorite place to write? At my desk in my...I can't bring myself to call it a study or an office with a straight face because it looks like Barbie took MDMA and threw up all over Ikea kids' department. The view from that window though. Rolling green hills and farmland with mountains in the distance. Peak Ireland.

Spirit: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received on your writing? All compliments are the best tbh. It means so much when people get a kick out of what I do. I think the biggest warm fuzzies come from people noticing tiny little details I don't expect anyone to pick up on.

Hey friend! 💕 Fire: What’s a scene that you are dying to write? Oh ho ho, I cannot tell in public, but it is one that looks epic in my head xD hint: there is a lot of fire, haha 😏 Sand: What’s the softest scene you’ve ever written? Uhm, that's a hard one because I've written a lot of fics 😅 But I know there are a couple soft scenes in Kings of Kattegat and especially the one with Ubbe braiding Ivar's hair in Chapter 9.

Spirit: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received on your writing? One that immediately came to mind is this fic assumption Eva wrote about me. I'm sure there are some others on AO3 that I've gotten and once in a while stumble upon that make me smile like a loon, but I can't go through them all and pick just one😅 (there are over 800, pls don't make me look T-T)

Water: How did you start writing?

Arguably, I've been writing ever since I was child. I used to have my mom help me write little short stories, like sleeping beauty but she was a cat...and I vaguely remember Heffalumps and Woozles being involved. I wish I still had a copy of that.

However, it was 4th/5th grade I started getting more into *trying* to write. My stories were very half baked and never got past chapter 1, but I had so many ideas but not the knowhow on how to write them.

The summer before 9th grade I discovered fanfiction, and that's really when I started learning how to write. From there, I took a few creative writing classes in high school, and minored in English in college too.

Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you?

Character development. They just sort of show up and the struggle is figuring out what to do with them. (If you've ever seen The Man Who Invented Christmas, that's really how it feels like sometimes).

Spring: Have you ever scrapped (a huge chunk of) a story to start over?  Why did the change come about?

Yes. More than once. I scrapped an entire draft, 200 double spaced pages, because I listened too much to my creative writing teachers and they absolutely ruined my characters. Hidden Earth I scrapped 4 full chapters to start over because I realized a MAJOR plot hole and the only way to fix it was to scrap and start from pretty much scratch.
