I got the harness for my cat and she seems to like wearing it so far, but now I have an... Interesting problem. She won't let me take it off. At all. I try and she zooms full speed to loaf somewhere I can't reach.
Huh. That is definitely not a problem I have encountered before! My best suggestion would be to keep a leash on the harness at all times, so you can keep the cat close enough to unclip once you’re done exploring. Or maybe lure her to you with food?
Glad to hear she’s enjoying the harness at least!
I'm thinking of harness training one of my cats so she can eventually go outside, and I was wondering if you had any tips, or recommendations for harnesses?
Hey there! I wrote up a post on different harnesses here, if you want to take a look! It should answer your question.
Choosing a good harness really depends on your cat. I’d recommend a lighter, cheaper harness at first (in case it turns out kitty doesn’t like outside). Cats generally adapt more quickly to the lighter harnesses, and then you can transition them to heavier jacket-style harnesses later if that’s what you’d prefer.
It’s also pretty important to get a lighter leash for your cat as well. It makes a world of a difference!
