Elena Lev

Elena Lev was born to a circus family in Moscow, Russia in 1981. Her mother, Elena Lev Sr., helped Elena learn rhythmic gymnastics at a young age due to her daughter's deep desire. Elena caught on quickly, later using the skills that she had acquired, such as extreme flexibility and acrobatic capability, to perform contortion and later, hula hoop acts. After much practice and dedication, Elena was noticed by the famed traveling troupe Cirque du Soleil. Elena was cast in the traveling show Alegría at just 13 years old and began touring all over the world for six years. Elena has also performed in several other shows with Cirque du Soleil, such as Quidam (2002) and Wintuk (2007). Elena still performs when she isn't training her daughter Varvara or spending time in her Las Vegas home with her husband, Remi Bakkar (who is also a performer) and her father Andrei (who trains trapeze at Mystère). Her most recent show in Spiegelworld's newest production Empire is her greatest feat yet, performing a death-defying aerial sphere contortion routine.
