Elevated Man by Goatsnake - More doom you said? Well here is your extra helping! Goatsnake was a band that had formed in the late 90′s, recorded two solid albums, and then called it quits. Usually that is the end of the story, but the band reformed last year and we should rejoice because this album is southern flavored doom at its finest.
Elevated Man is very much a Soundgarden influenced tune, from those good early days of Soundgarden. But then is gets it’s infectious groove on and chugs along like the best of Crowbar or Down until the Sabbath harmonica breakdown. Just a great tune and album that I cannot recommend highly enough.
