"Hey Kellyn?" It wasnt all too rare for Kate to come to Kellyn at night. The two were close after all and he was about the only person who could understand the nightmares that still plagued her. This time she wasn't here about Darkrai. Something was on her mind. "Somethings been bothering me for awhile," she grew quite for a moment as she tried to piece together her thoughts. "Ive been wondering if Ice is really what we think," she groaned. "Tell me Im absurd, please. Knock some sense into me,"
This is hardly the first time Kate’s come to him like this in the middle of the night, so he isn’t surprised, nor does he mind her presence. They’re close friends, after all.
He’s pretty sure he knows her reasoning without her having to say actually say it, assumes it’s the same as all the other times they’ve confided, but he allows her a quiet moment to gather her thoughts, not saying anything else while he watches her try and find the words she wants to say. And when she does, needless to say, Kellyn’s taken aback, and not just because this isn’t at all what he expected her to say. He blinks, staring at her with wide eyes in an expression that’s not quite disbelief, yet he can’t help feeling pretty stunned. After all, she’s never been shy about mentioning her complete and utter distaste for anyone with ties to Team Dim Sun, and he doesn’t blame her for it.
Because of that, though, hearing that she’s actually starting to have second thoughts about that comes out of left field and throws him for a loop.
He gathers himself after a few seconds, saying, “No, I...I don’t think you’re being crazy or anything, Kate.”
In fact, though he’s shocked to hear it, it makes him happy that he’s not the only one.
“I’ve thought for awhile that maybe Ice could do something good if he was given the chance to. And..maybe we can give him that chance?” If Kellyn could have Kate’s support in this endeavor, he would certainly feel a lot more confident in actually doing it.
