My next two journals got here yesterday! I have at least a few weeks left in my current journal so that means I have plenty of time to figure out what I want to do to make the covers even prettier than they already are ;) #elfartlife2017 #journal

This combines yesterday’s and today’s #wandintothenewyear challenges of “behind the back” and “upright flow”. I fumbled the wand a bit, but I liked the flow especially considering that this was the first time doing back stuff or anchoring the string on my neck. This challenge is really getting me to try new things and I love it!
Once there were two elfsisters:
Ruthie: I'm a rainbow, a sunset, and a work of art all wrapped in silliness and geekery.
Meri: My tools are words, juggling balls, wands, and hoops. I defy the patriarchy, expectations, and all forms of hate. I am an elf made of magic and at home surrounded by growing things and under the sun. My goal is to bring love and laughter to the world.
Art from Feb. 9th-12th Been a bit slow with the art lately, but that's ok, I tend to go in cycles with most things ;) Top row: 1 why yes, I DO use art supplies to style my hair. 2 Progress on my scarf. Bottom row: 1 Recent squares completed for my left over yarn granny square blanket. 2&3 More things snipped out for future collages! The Mickey Mouse ones are from left over wrapping paper. I'm thinking they will end up on a card for a kid. #ElfArtLife2017 #artlife #art #artsupplies #knitting #crochet #grannysquares #collage #mickeymouse
Art from Jan. 30th-31st Recent writing notes, and my January and 2017 pages in my daily journal. Yes, I'm aware it is no longer January, I just have had that paged saved to fill in all month and never figured out what I was going to do with it until the very end lol ☮ #ElfArtLife2017 #artlife #art #dailyjournal #quotes #terrypratchett #iwillnotbebroken
Who has rainbow tribbles and is about to start learning pairs of things? This dork! Since my flow space is limited in the winter, I decided to start learning more props I can do indoors- I picked short string double wands and poi. I’ve never really tried anything double before, so this will be an adventure! These fuzzy poi from flowtoys are so freaking cute and cheerful and also hopefully soft enough because I know I’ll be smacking myself in the head lol.
This is the first of two videos I did for #wandintothenewyear day 9 (“look Ma! No hands!”). This is with a long string wand. Illusion of “which hand is it in?” is something I haven’t really practiced since I have a habit of just passing the wand quickly from hand to hand and not really paying attention to how the hand not holding it looks. This definitely took concentration! I think it looks pretty good, though, like I really am magic!
Here’s my second video for #wandintothenewyear day 9 (“look Ma! No hands!”) since I wanted to try this with a short string wand, too. I haven’t practiced a lot of “which hand is it in?” illusion, but I’m excited because I figured out how to pass the pom handle from hand to hand in a different way than I usually do- I think it helps the illusion, but this whole thing is something I need to practice more. Keeping the hand a mystery is such a graceful and fluid wanding motion and I possess all the grace and fluidity of an avalanche lol.
