Oh, how many years it has been. Since I held #elhazardthemagnificentworld in my hand. This #bluray is from @nozomient but I used to own a DVD from Pioneer or Geneon or whoever. I can’t remember. But oh, what a thing of beauty that was. It had fold-out packaging housed in a slipcase. The menus were animated. This was back when anime licensors actually cared about presentation. Putting just as much money into the physical release as they did into the translation and English dub. Nowadays, they just put the disc in a case and, if you’re lucky, they’ll house it in a flimsy paper slipcase. I can get those at Dollar Tree for less that 1/16 of what I paid for this. Oh well. I have no right to complain this much. After all, this is one of my favorites. It’s been in licensing limbo for who knows how many years. Now it’s back again. And babe, it’s gonna turn out fine. Also, if you’re fed up to the back teeth with #isekai, I’d steer clear of this one. This was released in 1995, well before the great isekai boom of the mid to late 2010s, so it has all the hallmarks of such a story.
