Putting aside the whole grandparents killing thing, I think Moash and Elhokar would have agreed on a lot of things. For instance Elhokar has a horse named Vengeance, and Moash is probably the only other person in the world who would unironically think that's a banger name for a horse
king elhokar’s handsome new guard (word is he’s captain stormblessed’s lieutenant!) STUNS in a custom-made uniform, performing his guardly duties in style at the king’s latest feast. but new styles can be wildly expensive, even for brightlords. one wonders who may have gotten it for him…
in honor of chapter 2 dropping, here’s one of the pieces i’ve done for @sailorspren’s ongoing fic, At Spearpoint (sea also wrote the image IDs for this post)!! collaborating on this has been so fun and i can’t wait to drop more with future chapters. go read it now!!! 🫵🏽👇🏽

elhokar/moash illicit extramarital affair where elhokar appoints moash as his scheming royal advisor and shares a bed with him (behind closed doors they are fucking) where whenever elhokar comes up with a supremely terrible idea or is about to say something bigoted moash just goes "now that would be a terrible thing to do to a grandparent" and together they fix each other whilst making literally everyone else incredibly uncomfortable
So a few years ago NyaladinStormblessed drew this incredible kadolin chibi art and I wanted to do a version for Elhokar and Moash. I've never drawn chibi art before, and it was hard! But a lot of fun too. Thanks @nyaladinstormblessed for the beautiful art to work from!
ID: A digital illustration of chibi Elhokar and Moash by cosmereplay! Their bodies face each other, each one using a hand to collaboratively make a heart between them. Elhokar has brown skin and shoulder-length straight black hair. He wears a rich blue uniform with gold accents and a plain grey metal crown. The front of his hair is tucked into the crown awkwardly. He stands with a pout and looks at the viewer with frightened yellow-green eyes. Moash has brown skin and short, curly black-and-brown hair. He wears a plain, faded blue uniform and he holds a little chibi sword in his off hand, pointed at the heart they're making. He has light tan eyes and he's smiling devilishly as he winks at the viewer. The background is a combo of their light eye colours and there are columns of hearts on either side of them. End ID.
Below the cut enjoy my personal Elhokar eye color headcanon: purple like his mom and sister 🥹
ID: the same image as above but Elhokar's eye colour is a lilac purple, and the background is part purple part peachy.
🍬 Wet bat trio doing a Halloween activity together? Like carving pumpkins or opening the door for trick or treaters or something
Here you go! Vampire wet bat trio attempted humor. I’m not sure how well I wrote Elhokar or Moash, but this was still a blast
“What do we do with this?” Elhokar asked, feeling somewhat lost as he stared at the large pumpkin sitting on the table.
“Carve it, obviously,” Moash answered.
“With what? Aren’t there tools for this?”
“I don’t know. I figured a knife would be good enough.” Moash picked one up and brandished it at the pumpkin expressively.
Elhokar frowned at him. “The last time you tried that we ended up with a mess on the table.”
“Yeah, well-”
“And on the floor.”
“I thought it would be harder to carve into.”
“And on the walls.”
“It’s not my fault we keep the table in a corner.”
“And on-”
“I get it, alright?” Moash interrupted impatiently. “I made a mess one time. That’s less than I could say about some people.”
Elhokar folded their arms. “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Only that if we’re pointing fingers at someone for being messy, I have a hell of a lot of catching up to do.”
“I’m not pointing fingers. I’m just-” Elhokar sighed. “Look. I’m just saying that if we want to end up with something salvageable, we maybe shouldn’t use the biggest knife we have.”
“Since when are you the responsible one?” Moash asked, expression darkening. “I’ll use whatever knife I want.”
Elhokar opened their mouth to retort, their frustration rising. Before he could form the first word, a thin, pale hand reached past him and plunged a long, wickedly sharp claw into the pumpkin. The finger moved down a few inches, leaving a neat, thin line behind. “The solution is obvious, fledgelings,” a voice said from just behind Elhokar’s right shoulder.
If they’d still had a pulse, Elhokar’s heart would have stopped in that moment. As it was, he let out a yelp and fell out of his chair, landing on the floor with a thump.
Moash turned his glare on the being who had just silently emerged from the shadows. “How many fucking times do we have to tell you to let us know when you’re creeping up on us?”
“You assume that I wished to warn you,” Szeth responded, its voice calm and unruffled.
“What the fuck were you thinking?”
“It is halloween. Is the purpose not to cause fright?”
“Only when you’re expecting it,” Elhokar said weakly, picking themself up from the floor. He righted his chair and sat again, pretending that his hands weren’t shaking.
A small crease formed between Szeth’s brows as it clearly thought that over. “That is not realistic. I was not cursed to always be wreathed in shadows so my appearance can be anticipated.”
“It’s not meant to be realistic,” Moash said, rolling his eyes. “It’s pretend fear. For fun.”
Elhokar had never learned how Szeth could imbue silence with such scorn. Maybe that was one of its many curses it was always going on about.
“You didn’t answer my question,” Moash said when it was clear Szeth would say no more on the topic. “What were you thinking?”
“You wondered how to carve the pumpkin with less of a mess.”
“That was Elhokar.”
Szeth continued over Moash. “There is no need for a knife.” It held up its right hand, its skeletal fingers and long claws clearly on display. It didn’t seem concerned with trying to always appear human when it was just the three of them in the apartment. Elhokar couldn’t relate. He didn’t like scaring people by advertising the fact that he was a vampire.
Moash scowled. “I should have thought of that.”
“Yes,” Szeth agreed mildly. “You should have.”
“You want us to carve it with our fingers?” Elhokar asked. “Isn’t that, I don’t know, unsanitary?”
“We cannot get sick,” Szeth pointed out.
Elhokar covered their face with their hand, and Moash grinned. Elhokar was secretly jealous that he wasn’t the one who had made Moash smile like that. “Fine,” Elhokar said, realizing they were outnumbered. “Let’s do it.”
Szeth joined them at the table. Its smile was significantly more unsettling than Moash’s.
"It's part of your training," Moash insisted. "You aren't king anymore, so you need to learn to stop acting as stuck-up as one."
Elhokar groaned. "I'm disgraced already. This idea would just make it worse."
"Give yourself a lightweaving, then," Moash said. "I don't want to hear any more excuses. You need to get outside at some point, and today's as good as any for it."
Since Elhokar's abdication, he hadn't done much of anything besides mope around his rooms. He was glad to not have the responsibility of kingship, but he was having trouble deciding what else to do with himself.
Moash couldn't stand Elhokar's self-pity, so he had decided to force him into action. Some light pressuring worked incredibly well on him, which Moash found unsurprising. Despite everything, Elhokar was eager to please him.
He used that to his advantage whenever he could. Including today, when he'd decided that Elhokar had spent enough time wallowing. If they were to believe that he could grow and change, as Kaladin professed, he needed to be pushed into that growth.
Moash was more than happy to be the one pushing Elhokar along. He had to begrudgingly admit that it was more satisfying than killing him would have been. The king was more than the weakling Moash had initially assumed he was. Or at least, he was becoming stronger with time.
Elhokar finally emerged from his room, disguised in a lightweaving of an Alethi noblewoman. He'd kept his skin tone and eye color the same, but most observers would not recognize him as the former king. The disguise would also make them look like a lighteyed couple, Moash realized, since his own eyes had lightened since becoming a shardbearer and then a Knight Radiant.
He decided he would play into it, and took Elhokar's arm in his. "Let's go," he said, dragging Elhokar along. "I'm sure there's plenty in this tower that you haven't had an opportunity to see yet."
They made their way to the fabrial lifts, waiting in line among a crowd of people. At first, Elhokar kept glancing around nervously, but it seemed he eventually settled into his disguise and realized no one was watching him.
Once they got to the front of the line, a guard asked Moash where he was going. "Up to the top," he said. "I want to show the lady the view." The guard, who Moash didn't recognize, nodded. "The furthest lift on the left," he said, and gestured them off.
Elhokar followed him. "I didn't realize there were so many people here," he said, sounding bewildered. "I didn't even recognize that guard's uniform. He's not from any of the highprinces' houses. How can that be?"
Moash grunted. "This is what you get for staying holed up for so long. The tower's changed. We've got people from all over the world here. I think that man was Azish."
They took the lift up to the very top of Urithiru, which was essentially a flat platform. Despite the view, few people made use of it: the lift ride was a long trip, and there were plenty of balconies on the way that had similar spectacular views.
Moash loved the top because it was completely open to the air. It made him feel free and connected to the winds. His spren, Ninli, lept in front of him, riding the wind that whipped across the roof.
"It's beautiful," Elhokar said, looking around. "I... I had no idea this was here," he admitted.
Moash smirked. "You didn't know where anything was. I understand that it was difficult to abdicate, but I wanted you to see that no one is particularly paying attention to what you do. There's room for you to do more, see things, learn about the world. Become a better man."
"Do you really think no one cares? Or are they just pretending?" Elhokar asked, glancing around. He was an anxious man, always seeing things in the shadows. Moash needed to prove to him that his anxiety was unwarranted.
"There's no one watching you," Moash said. "I can guarantee it. I can prove it for you, if you'd like."
"I don't know," Elhokar said. "How can you be so sure?"
Moash had a plan to convince Elhokar. A plan that would cause more than a little embarrassment on the prince's part, but one that he thought would be effective. And ultimately enjoyable.
He leaned in, and, in view of anyone who happened to be watching, gave Elhokar a quick kiss. Just like one any man might give the woman he was courting. Elhokar's eyes widened with shock, but no one else reacted. Of course they didn't. Because no one was watching Elhokar. To them, he was just an ordinary woman out for a stroll with a man.
Moash watched as a small smile spread across Elhokar's face. "You were right," he said. "I suppose I was making myself out to be more important than I am."
Moash laughed at that. "That's what I've been trying to tell you for a very long time, Elhokar. You are just the same as any other person. No more or less important."
I had a dream a while back where they made a Stormlight live action TV series and Elhokar and Moash kissed in it. And I just wanna say I won't accept any TV adaptation that doesn't include that now
