“ killed? sounds a bit melodramatic - maimed, maybe. ” lips pulled up into a slightly teasing smirk, feigned consideration given to the words as he shrugged off the suggestion with a much calmer demeanour than his company. “ i actually think i could have taken them... maybe not the bald one, his arms were probably bigger than your head. ” and perhaps eli was right to be concerned. the rush of adrenaline which came from provoking a group of thugs probably wasn’t safer than his usual form of high, though the potential of physical pain had never really stopped him from doing anything before. besides, toby knew the bouncers were always going to have stepped in, one of the few benefits to having everyone know him. “ i’d have been fine. did expect security to step in a little sooner though, ideally before anyone actually tried to swing. ” lips lingered in their slight smirk, fingers rooting through his pockets for his lighter before attention shifted fully up to eli and features shifted just enough to resemble something genuine. “ - you worry too much, eli. you really think i’d have let anything happen when you were stood right there? ” he might have been reckless, but not that reckless, at least not when it came to the other male.
Eli can’t help but let out a small sigh. Of course Toby wasn’t really taking what happened all that serious. He should have known. The whole scene really did scare him. thinking that Toby could have ended up badly injured. Killed was just the first thing that popped into his head in that moment. “I am relieved that you didn’t go any further.” Eli said. At this point, Eli couldn’t even remember why Toby was fighting with them in the first place. All he could really remember was that punches were thrown and maybe one may have been thrown his way, so maybe that was more of a reason as to why Toby got more involved. “I can’t help it! The last thing that I would want is for you to get severely injured.” Eli explained. His emotions were through the roof at this point and for some reason he could feel the tears that threatened to sting his eyes. Eli let out a frustrated sigh. “I know you don’t want me to worry about you or care. But that’s just not me. Sometimes I care too much I know. I just hate seeing the people I care about get hurt okay?” Eli asks as he glances away from the other.
