I was inspired by @amarearts‘ gorgeous uniform designs (go look at them!), so I threw several of my SWTOR characters into Garreg Mach!
Ladies of Fódlan
Elizanne Luz - minor noble from a relatively poor and crestless house. An aspiring falcon night of Faerghus; unceasingly cheerful and encouraging with very little awareness of politics or intrigue.
Xinoe Kratai - crest-bearing daughter of Alliance knights sought after as a match by the noble house her parents serve. Genuinely just wants to be a Dark Knight and serve with distinction; constantly fending off noble proposals. Inspires great loyalty and courage in her fellow soldiers.
Alkeia Padia - daughter of a seamstress of Brigid, she drew the attention of a noble patron when she defended her fellow village children during a bandit attack. Because of her enormous size and strength, the Adrestian noble offered to rebuild her village if she agreed to become a knight. Genuinely hates fighting, prefers fashion.
Ahemeit von Amduat - a former Adrestian noble who fled the empire under mysterious circumstances and took up residence at Garreg Mach. Much older than she appears, with a strong proficiency in both black and white magic.
Sorry, Baron von Heartthrob! Your mustache is very handsome but it also tickles!
Okay so I guess OC Kiss Week 2018 has become OC Kiss Month 2018. This one features @juczerro‘s delightful Agent Zaharian Kavok, who is in his undercover look that @amarearts designed for this piece here. I loved it so much I had to draw it! Here he’s smooching my jedi knight Eli’Zan Luz, who is most succinctly described as “Kaylee Frye with lightsabers.” This might be a bad move, though, because the Eli’Zan defense squad zooms in immediately at the first sign of duplicitous agent smooches. Accidentally kind of hilarious, since as imperial agents go Zah is about as sweet as you can get.
Eli’Zan Defense Squad, clockwise from the left:
Angry Balmorran Mother, Sabine Traken-Luz (mine)
@catpella‘s delightful twi’lek shadow Karreja
@nerdlordholocron‘s looming and disapproving Michaeli
Older sister who Won’t Hesitate, Bitch, Guileta Luz (mine)
@kotorswtor‘s Nauri Massani (right) and Ellekai Massani (bottom), who are on to you, Zah.
Also the pose for the last panel was taken from this Draw the Squad template which was a lot of fun and I strongly recommend.
Featuring @rprambles Agent Daemon Kraspen and my Jedi Knight Eli’zan Luz.
Daemon is blue space Bond and Eli’zan is Kaylee Frye + lightsabers. They are very cute and then very sad and then very cute again. Emi, I know you had a rough day today and I hope this helps cheer you up in some tiny way. You got me into this fandom, so you’re to blame for all of this!!
1. Does your character cooperate well cross-faction? Do they have any significant ties to characters outside their faction? How important, in general, is faction to how willing they are to associate with somebody?
Short answer: no, not at all.
Slightly longer answer: Guileta has an intense dislike and distrust for Sith based on memories of the Sacking of Coruscant. This is further enhanced by her protective impulse for Tzefanyah Pae, whose throat was nearly crushed by sith when they destroyed his village. Imperial Agents and Bounty Hunters are guilty by association. No, cross faction flirting will not help you in this. It will only give her a +damage and +to hit bonus.
Guileta’s only significant cross-faction tie is that she is the only person who ever made Iphegenia/Project I feel fear.
2. Does your character put a label at all on how they tend to relate to other people? (This includes things like sexual/romantic orientation labels but it also encompasses things outside that like would they call themself a misanthrope, people person, introvert, etc. How would they describe themself relating to others in general.)
If she had a put a label on it, it would always be [JEDI, JEDI, JEDI, CODE.] Which is mostly wishful thinking. Guileta is a bit of an ice queen and more spiteful and reactive than she would ever want to admit. Her mona lisa facade does crack occasionally to show a very strong protective impulse and a badly bruised heart.
She considers herself an impassive observer, which is a hilariously inaccurate assessment.
[more under the cut!]
3. What are some of your character’s most significant connections with others?
Her fellow healer and eventual husband, Tzefanyah Pae, had a huge influence on her life and eventual peace/happiness. Her padawan, Theril, alternately makes her beamingly proud and impossibly flabbergasted. Her siblings provide a perfect mix of exasperation and devotion.
4. Does your character get along better with people who are very similar to them, or very different to them?
It depends on the similarities. If they’re fellow code-following Jedi who maintain the outward appearance of devotion to the order, generally neither one will venture beneath the mask to unearth anything troublesome. If the similarities are more like – vengeful, harsh, extremely critical, prone to extremes? That can get messy very quickly.
5. How important is trust to your character? Who do they trust the most?
Trust is incredibly important to Guileta. She can be gutted by betrayal, and unfortunately for that person, she’d rather be mad than sad. And she’s a healer, sure, but damn that girl has some telekinetics.
Jedi Knight Eli’Zan Luz
6. What are some of the things your character most enjoys doing with people they are close to?
Practically anything, especially if the other person suggested it. Eli loves but is not particularly talented at dancing (not until she’s had many lessons with Daemon Kraspen). She enjoys childish games like tag, hide and go seek, Master Sii-mon Says, etc. She also just likes listening to people, but be warned, she is a very active listener and you should be prepared for a lot of bouncing-in-seat.
7. Is your character generally touchy-feely or hands-off (emotionally or literally)? Are there exceptions to this?
Very touchy. Many hug. Such affection. WOW.
8. What does your character look for in a _____? (Insert friend, romantic partner, working partner, whatever you want in blank; either asker or answerer can specify.)
Do you exist? Are you capable of feeling an emotion? Eli would like to be your friend and admires you.
9. Who would turn to your character in a crisis, and how would your character handle it?
Eli isn’t very senior in the jedi hierarchy, but she is a jedi. Any stranger might turn to her for help. Her first impulse is to Be Sweet At the Crisis, try to sort out any misunderstandings and reach common ground, if possible. If that’s not an option, Eli’s number one priority is always preserving as many lives as possible and getting civilians to safety. She has no interest in glory or bravado and will only draw sabers when left no other option.
10. What’s the most ridiculous, hilarious, or stupid dispute your character has had with somebody else? How was it resolved?
Eli’zan started calling her sister Gooey because of their half-brother, Loren II. Eventually Loren II pointed out that Guileta was not fond of the nickname. Eli’zan didn’t believe him, because surely Gooey would have said something if Eli were upsetting her. Loren II challenged her to use increasingly terrible nicknames and see if Guileta would put up with it out of love for her sister.
Apparently she drew the line at ‘Goo Goo Ka-Choo.’
Senator Loren Fidelis Luz
11. What are some of the hard lines that your character keeps about what behaviour they won’t tolerate?
Slavery or the enabling thereof; war profiteering, the casual, habitual genocide so common among hutts and Imperial agendas. Loren Fidelis’ strongest anger is reserved for his fellow senators and representatives of the Republic; those who abuse that trust and then hide behind the need for ‘unity’ or ‘a strong coherent Republic image’ will face the full brunt of his wrath and the considerable list of his allies and resources.
12. How does your character handle betrayal of their faction (if applicable)? Personal betrayal? Which is the worse offense to them?
Loren Fidelis is not a stoic or a hard case; when he is betrayed, he is wounded deeply and his heart aches. That said, his immediate concern is usually for that person’s safety, emotional health, and continued survival. Personal betrayal cuts more deeply than a betrayal of the Republic, but the difference is probably best phrased as: in a personal betrayal, Loren Fidelis would not press any charges. When the Republic is betrayed, it is his responsibility to the citizenry to do so.
13. What does your character like most about the people closest to them?
Each individual’s tiny languages of love and kindness. Sabine’s cold, thin hands warming themselves on a mug of his tea. The grin of boyish pride Cyrus Hargrave gets when the model ship soars up over the senate plaza. Ellekai’s sprite form hidden under an endless pile of blankets as she mutters about minutiae under her breath. Loren II’s spark of clever determination as he leaps toward he next challenge. Eli’Zan’s small gasp of surprise. T’zipporah’s bland ‘pun? what pun?’ expression with the laughter at the edges of her eyes. Daemon’s blink of surprise each time he realizes a new level of affection from his found family. Angeles Hargrave, his lips a tense line of exasperation, signing a bleeding heart refugee bill into law.
14. Who does your character have the best memories of?
Loren Fidelis treasures memories of his father, Grantian Luz, who died in the Siege of Corellia. He also carries many small moments with Captain Ophera - her smirk, her throaty laugh, the ‘tch’ of her tongue when her pragmatism hit the wall of his idealism.
15. Is there anyone your character never wants to see again?
None by name. Depends on the circumstances. There are plenty of Darths that he’d rather not see set foot on Corellia ever again.
all the questions for Eli'Zan pls ;w; or as many as you feel up to doing /pets
all aboard the Jedi shibe train!!
1. Which classes can recruit your character? Are there any other requirements for recruitment (alignment, for instance), and is it easier or harder for specific classes? (Assume a more complex recruitment system than the game currently has.)Any class can recruit Eli’Zan, but they must remain Light I or above. She makes it clear that she serves the republic and walks a lightside path if recruited by imperial characters, but is happy to team up with them toward a shared goal.
2. Can you flirt or pursue a romance line with this character? (One need not strictly lead to the other.) How does the character react? What’s the storyline like? Which player characters can take these options?Any class or gender can pursue a romance with Eli’Zan, though the first dozen flirt attempts clearly go directly over her head. Eli will continuously gush about the player more and more as she reaches higher affection levels and yet remains oblivious to any and all innuendos. Think ‘just a pair of guys being dudes’ but like ‘just a pair of heroes being good guys :D :D.’ That is Eli.
At very high levels of affection, she eventually realizes she has feelings for the player mid-ramble about how wonderful the player is. If the player is Republic, she becomes very excited about this and has zero expectation of being requited; players are required to state in no uncertain terms that romance is happening, at which point she is even more excited.
For imperial players the realization is followed by a rare Downcast Eli’Zan moment where she promises to love and wish for their health and happiness, but admits that her duty as a jedi will most likely lead her away from them. If the player expresses interest in defection she will gain a massive approval bonus and the romance continues.
Eli’s romance is a chaste/asexual romance.
3. Which other existing companions does this character have notable interactions with? If unromanced, do they enter relationships with other companions? Are they mutually exclusive with any other companions?Eli’zan has delighted, enthusiastic exchanges with Nadia about the wonders of the galaxy and the challenges of being a padawan during wartime. She is as oblivious to Doc, Kaliyo, and Tharan Cedrax’ flirtation as she is to the player’s; she and Corso apparently achieve perfect gridlock while aggressively holding doors open for each other.
Eli’Zan is a bit starry eyed over Risha, Elara Dorne, Felix Iresso, and Yuun. The player can ask if there is anything romantic there, but as always, she will not understand the question.
4. Can the player at any time cause this character to leave? Is it possible to get this character killed?Eli’Zan will leave if the player’s alignment falls below Light I. It is possible to kill Eli’Zan as a republic character after the revelation that she was an imperial puppet for a time; Republic players can determine that the risk of her being a sleeper agent or plant is too high and kill her for a large darkside gain. If Eli’Zan is at low levels of affection, this will initiate combat. If she is at high levels of affection, she will trust the PC’s judgment and accept death at their hands.
After discovering her history as a sith captive, Imperial players can hand Eli’Zan over to imperial intelligence to avoid suspicion/Imperial interference, or kill her outright. Eli will not go to either of these fates quietly, regardless of affection levels.
5. Does this character use any unique companion abilities? (For examples of unique abilities already ingame: Nadia’s Wild Energy AoE, Tharan’s Deploy Holiday stun.)Eli’Zan will occasionally throw out a buff called ‘Indomitable,’ which makes any party she is in immune to stuns, knockdowns, and movement impairment for six seconds.
6. What kinds of actions gain and lose affection with this character? How much?Mercy, encouragement, enthusiasm, expressing happiness or approval of teammates and subordinates – all of these gain approval from Eli. All approval gains for Eli come in massive chunks. She approves of level headed thinking from the player (something she does not consider her strength) but also approves of moments of blind enthusiasm/strong feeling (something she sympathizes with a great deal).
Murder, cruelty, anti-alien sentiment, sith apologetics, and condemnation of the weak or frightened all really do a number on Eli’s approval. Eli does not approve of arguments about the cost effectiveness of saving lives or prioritizing tech over sentients.
Regardless of the alignment of the choice, Eli will gain massive approval for absolutely terrible jokes or puns.
7. What are some notable points in this character’s questline?Eli’Zan will join republic and imperial characters alike on Belsavis while fighting dreadguards. Eli’Zan has a special talent for resisting force mind control and fear tactics, making her an ideal choice for this mission. If the player is lightside and convinces Eli’Zan that they should work together to bring down a common enemy, she will join as a melee DPS/Sentinel companion. She will offer several missions to track down Dreadguard Lieutenants across the galaxy, with bonus content on Oricon for quest completion.
Toward the end of the missions series, it will come to light that Eli’Zan’s resistance to mind control is a result of previous sith captivity. Republic characters learn this from an SIS operative who was held captive by Dreadguard and tormented for some time. Imperials receive a holocall from a concerned imperial intelligence operative, who details Eli’s capture by Lord Aegrum, her escape, and her usefulness as a hostage (being a very famous senator’s daughter). For darkside points, players can hand her over to imperial intelligence or kill her for. The lightside option allows Eli to remain as a companion (handwaving concerns away as a Sith, alluding to a larger agenda as an Agent, or giving Imperial Intelligence the middle finger as a Bounty Hunter).
8. What kind of commentary do they offer while following you into different areas?Eli’zan loves everything ever and says so. This place has trees I love it let’s stay forever! This place is full of people I love them let’s stay forever! This place is full of war and death let’s do something about that anD THEN STAY FOREVER.
Eli’zan is by no means a historian or scholar, but listens avidly to her companions and friends. She has a lot of interactions gauging how your other companions have spoken about certain areas, and recounting stories from her own masters and fellow jedi. She spots many opportunities to provide assistance to any communities in danger and tactical advice regarding terrain and planetary conditions.
9. Do they have specific reactions with class storylines or the endgame storyline?Eli has very, very strong reactions to the Children of the Emperor and will beg the player to spare each of them. She in general will want you to spare just about anyone. She prefers that Warriors put Baras in grumpy baby jail rather than killing him, approves of Inquisitors who search for knowledge rather than power as Dark Council members, and gains massive affection with Agents who join with the SIS or Bounty Hunters who spare the chancellor/turn on Tormen.
10. Are customizations available? What do some of them look like?Eli’s customizations are all spry, somewhat boyish, and not terribly attractive. She comes with an unlock for mood: joyful and mood: stunned.
everything answers so much (read more for more derp)
Ekhein Agapi
1. Does your character have any idea of where they might be in ten years?
Hugging someone. Who and where and why seems very unimportant at themoment. Hopefully still helping people. 2. How does your character regard their appearance?
“Well, I’ve got a tree painted all over me, so... clearly: awesome.”3. Would your character rather receive traditional scientific medicaltreatment, or Force healing?
Big fan of both. Force healing is cool and mysterious and fast likewow; medtech is his area of expertise and he loves seeing newsetups/applications. Whoever is doing the healing will probably need tosedate him so he doesn’t try to stay awake through it and ask endlessquestions.4. What are your character’s views on romance; how, if at all, do theyapproach the subject?
Romance? Hell YEAH. Approach? Hell......a? Hella??? Flexing I guess?? Puppy eyes and a lot ofaffirmation...????
Ek is a big fan of almost everyone he meets and very casually gets crusheson every sentient being, but is also notoriously absent minded and, you know, constantly on the move was a republic soldier/medic. It would take someoneon the other end being persistent and blunt for him to be like oh. OH. You mean for serious. NICE.
5. What’s the dumbest injury your character has ever received?
Leaps off makeshift stage air guitaring, underestimates enthusiasm of crowd incatching him, smashes face on floor, breaks nose.
“Crowd” here meaning “only Ankoni with no one else in the room”
Eli’Zan Luz6. What is the worst thing your character believes about themself?
That she is ultimately useless and unintelligent; that she can only hinderand never help.7. What’s the silliest thing your character has ever done?
Uh. Most things Eli does have an element of silliness to them. There was that time she tried to do an Ellekai impression but she just ended upcovering herself in blankets and talking about how wonderful Ellekai was forten minutes straight. (“I am EllekaiMassani and I am very smart and kind and wise and my eyes glow like the suns ofTatooine,” etc.)8. How much emotion does your character tend to display, and how do theydisplay it?
All of it, all the time, all over. Eli has an extremely expressiveface, with a mouth that can reach incredible sizes and eyes that can get widelike a potoo bird’s. She’s never been any good at hiding any emotionsand, to be fair, she never really tried.9. How much sleep does your character tend to get?
Eli tries to get the recommended 7-8 hours a night; obviously this is oftenimpossible in warzone situations. She can sleep anywhere, and will curlup in a corner of any transport ship and nap on the way to her next drop point.10. How does your character treat people they dislike?
Cries at them. It is so hard to be a person Eli’zan dislikes. You have to really, really work at it. Mostly she is just sad that youare not friends. Why do you do the things that make the Eli sad. Why.
Loren Luz II11. What does your character look for in a friend?
How annoyed are you by puns and wonks and grinning pirate captains? Alot? Very annoyed? Har har we are besties now no take backs.12. Does your character readily express what they need and want to others?
If the “need” serves the function of saving lives, tweaking the empire’snose, or performing other heroic derring-do, Loren will voice it loudly. He can beg, borrow, plead, or cajole an entire fleet out of an annoyed admiralwith zero hesitation. If we’re talking about personal needs? Lorenis adept at laughing and redirecting the conversation the moment someoneimplies he has them.13. What are your character’s musical preferences?
Anything that allows for easy harmonizing. Things meant for two ormore singers. Spacer shanties, parody songs, funny little improvised barswhile slicing imperial command consoles. 14. What’s the best thing someone could give your character?
Anything that was clearly given specifically for him, by someone who reallywanted to give him a gift. Loren likes shows of affection but does notexpect them.15. How does your character handle embarrassment?
It is really, really, really hard to embarrass Loren. Reallyhard. He usually likes to just sit in socially awkward situations andgrin at whoever is attempting to make him blush. He has two settings:“lmao” and “completely ashamed.” Once you’ve crossed the line intosomething he is ashamed of, namely things to do with his father and stepmother, there’s almost zero chance of amusement or any positive outcome of any kind.
1) What’s something your character would be embarrassed for others to find out about?
How much she second guesses herself, given time for self reflection.
7) What’s something your character would secretly love to do with someone else?
MOST THINGS. Ride thrantas. Go cliff diving. Eat sweets and climb the jedi temple walls and play catch the holocron and braid each other’s hair and make a sentient pyramid and basically be in proximity while also being wildly enthusiastic. …. Not that she’s very good at keeping any of that secret.
9) Give an example of a thought your character would be embarrassed for someone else to hear.
Oooooh, THAT’S why Loren calls us the Luzers. It’s a pun!
