If I can ask questions... The Forest offre Memories : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 14, 15
Hahaha it’s been so long since I’ve written this fic, so let’s see if I can remember!
1:What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I really liked the idea of looking at the situation of the perspective of both Yuri as Robin Hood and Flynn as the Sheriff of Nottingham, dealing with their personal struggles both concrete and abstract. A lot of the time, you don’t hear a sympathetic version of the Sheriff’s story. Granted, its only sympathetic because its Flynn, but it was still a interesting challenge to see their ideologies go head to head in this setting, too.
2:What scene did you first put down?
I actually started at the very beginning with Flynn in the forest. Most of the fic was written very linearly.
3:What’s your favorite line of narration?
This one was tough, because some of my favorite narration isn’t in posted chapters yet! But for the time being, from chapter 6:
“Imissed you so much,” was all he could bear to say, a faintmuttering into Yuri’s dark hair. Hastily, his hands cupped Yuri’swarm, pale cheeks. Their noses touched, breath mingled, and the pressof their lips was soft and brief, even though Flynn wanted it to beso much more.
4:What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Same as above! A tough choice to post without spoilers for later chapters, but here’s another piece from chapter 6:
“Comehome. With me.” Those words burned his mouth, anxious and needy.“You don’t need to do this.”
“Ican’t.” The denial came so quickly that it stunned him.
“You’llbe safe and cared for and–”
“Thisis something that I need to do.” Yuri’s eyes shifted to meet hisand the argument dropped there. Flynn wanted to plead his casefurther, but he knew that it was useless. Yuri was too stubborn tolisten to reason.
“So,what brings the Sheriff of Nottingham all the way to my humble home?”
Numbly, his hands presented the book that had led him there, and as Yuri tookit, they dropped limp at his sides. Yuri tucked it back into hisjerkin, but said nothing. Flynn broke the heavy silence.
“Ofcourse I did.” His words were just as weighty. “That wasthe happiest time in my life.”
“Wecould go back–” He took a hold of Yuri’s wrist, feeling themuscles flex beneath his fingers.
“Areyou going to arrest me?”
5:What part was hardest to write?
Anything involving antagonist motivations! I feel like they were really weak compared to other parts.
9:Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Nope! My finished fics don’t generally change too much from the original drafts except for minor fixes.
14:Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
Nothing to learn really! I just wanted share fuse two of my great loves (TOV and Robin Hood) and share them!
15:What did you learn from writing this fic?
I can’t say I learned much while writing it.
