@staff announced that they’ll run back their reblog bullshit but let’s not jump to praise them please

1. they are the ones who caused this problem. they should not be applauded for fixing it. it did not need to be a problem in the first place.

2. trans women and people of color are still being flagged as mature for posting selfies and suspended left and right. staff is doing nothing about this and will not address it.

3. they do not care about their userbase. they care about money. the corporation is not your friend. they will happily change the website on a whim if they think it will make them more money. they are only doing this because they were scared of losing money from losing users and the subsequent ad revenue.

it’s a relief that they listened this time, but there are plenty of other things they won’t respond to. and they still intend to make some kind of change to reblogs in the future, presumably aiming to continue their gradual twitterification of the website. don’t settle for this, and still be wary
