#elid #tien #gavilar #eshonai #helaran #dead siblings au #everything sucks for elid forever. she's traveling vorin lands looking for jez's blade and navigating the horrors of war as a good person.#tien represses a LOT from his time in the army. he became a killer to survive. he covers it with smiles. recently picked up by the diagram.#after learning why his sister and father were killed helaran murdered nale and covered it up. now he's neck deep in conspiracy bullshit.#even with the treaty it was difficult for eshonai to travel the world until the everstorm. she does so now to free roshar from the old gods #gavilar accomplished his goals. but he isn't very happy with how things turned out. and he didn't expect to miss his brother.#not quite sure if helaran kills kaladin or if kal dies much earlier. the latter makes more sense but it feels better to have helaran do it.#i like that elid is the same height as szeth but she's broad instead of slim. good stuff.

#she's one of the most ''deserved better'' women in the series.#but i love her character design #she has a thick neck!! she has facial scars!!!!!!! (just like her brother. he also has facial scars. they're grey.)#she's the ONLY character to rival szeth in shortness factor!!!!!!#(i basically just made her szeth but a bit wider and with hair. that's what she looks like.)#elid #szeth #wind and truth spoilers #this is FAR from my biggest problem with these books but i ADAMANTLY believe she should have lived. what did killing her add to the story?#she didn't need to die. she shouldn't have died. plus this world needed more small angry women.

#does anyone want to play in the dead siblings au sandbox with me?#it's fun instead of those other guys we have these guys. a full cast that mostly retains all the same vibes just distributed differently.#dead siblings au #elid #helaran #tien #gavilar #eshonai #most of them keep their original radiant orders. elid is a windrunner because that's the missing order.#gavilar has desolations buyers remorse and he VERY unexpectedly misses his brother a lot. venli-story-esque vibes.#tien was scooped to by the diagram and used in a way reminiscent of szeth. soulcasting bodies into air is kind of about covering up crimes.#it's mostly about denial and repression though. he's a very impressionable and shellshocked kid.#helaran is trying to uncover conspiracy shit as a skybreaker and also cover up how he murdered their leader.#eshonai trying to bring everyone together while being too scary for the humans and being too free-thinking for odium.#elid is just going through it

Sigh.......Elid deserved better.......why did she have to die, she didn't have to die....... this isn't even a case of her dying for her brother's character development, like with all the other dead siblings. He barely ever thought about her anyway, and her death didn't result in any more than a couple sentences of angst, at best.

#not to mention how it was a mercy killing.......#i love it when women have to be put down for their own good.......my favorite........#elid #wind and truth spoilers #i've been thinking about her a lot because of dead siblings au..... and like...... imagine having to go through all the same stuff as szeth #but you're not even being groomed as special you're being groomed into a mini-boss #and also unlike your brother who did commit the greatest sin possible (by your cultural standards) you didn't do anything wrong #and ALSO you don't even get to be SHOWN going through all this. you aren't actually given a story about being made into a soldier.#that's saved for a reveal later on so you don't even get to have a character arc about it
