Elijah had arranged items to be taken to her shop, not expecting her to prepaid anything when it was he who asked her to have dinner with him. He knew the items would be there and waiting for him as he walked down the street, head high and not worrying who might be around him. This was not the night for things to be ruined, he would not allow it.
It was the first time he had been on a date of such in so very long and he wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. He tapped ever so gently on the close doors, most likely not locked but it was more polite to knock. Dressed in a sleek black three piece suit, black tie and crisp white shirt. His arrogance and vanity telling him he looked enticing even to the most unwelcoming of people. Yet he was not expecting this welcome to be like that. His stood, bottle of fine wine in his hand and waited to see the vision of beauty appear before him.
