Eliot Spitzer wore an awfully familiar outfit this morning at a press conference. Reminds us of another press conference...
(h/t Will Ritter)
Robert Reich, Paul Krugman, Joe Stigletz...ummm yes! Preach it Eliot Spitzer. Give me a truly progressive cabinet...none of this Timothy Geitner ish!
I know it is probably not realistic to imagine any of these "well known" liberals getting confirmed by the Senate, but I can dream. The fight that the Republicans would start is something that would make the "hoop la" around the potential name dropping of Susan Rice as the Secretary of the State look like child's play. Republicans would be going for blood if Obama went this route...and I hope it is something he really does.
If you really want to change Washington you need to pull from people that truly want to change the status quo and not just pick from the old guard that is waiting for their turn in line. I want Obama to embrace the Progressive platform and give me FDR! And he won't do this if he makes the same mistake and appoints cabinet members that have worked for the Bush administration (see note)
*In his attempts to seem conciliatory he appointed many people from the Bush administration {(some that had a hand in financial crisis in 2008) see Timothy Geitner) }and some of the old guard from the Clinton years.
Shake it up OBAMA!
