Eliza Art!!

I don’t talk about her that- wait I haven’t tallied about her at all….oops soon, soon trust.

I’m not a HH fan but Love in A Bottle was FIREEEE, also reminded me of her and I wanted an excuse to draw her!

This was originally made as a joke but I wanna deep drive into it.

So Eliza is a very insecure woman, seeing as she only had like 2 people in her life (her foster father and ex-fiancé) and both of them were men deadset on making her as miserable as they could.

Eliza’s foster father, Joey Al, hated that he was left in charge of her and as much as he tried to make her fit into the typical role of a Nobel woman, Eliza was a very creative soul, but not in the creative way that he wanted. Joey shunned every gothic horror idea Eliza created, from her writings to her paintings. He made her wear pastel colors that clashed with her pale skin and when she was old enough, he started having her hair bleached blonde. He intentions were not to have her not become a target of bullying by making her fit in, his intentions were to keep himself from being a laughing stock for his corpse looking child. He made sure Eliza knew what she was meant to do as a woman and why marriage was very important, despite he himself not being married.

With the lessons Joey had taught her, Eliza grew up realizing that who she was was not going to be accepted. She was ecstatic when Eli, her future ex-fiancé, started perusing her. She felt that he would be the only man to ever accept her and even then she had to make changes to keep him around. They had planned to marry soon, around the age of 20. But Eli was not a good fiancé: he constantly belittled Eliza and made sure she knew he could leave at any moment. He had originally asked Eliza out because of a dare but when he realized her inheritance and family fortune, he was set on having that money. While Eliza poured her heart and soul into him, he was off having an affair.

After being sent to an insane asylum and being released, Eliza had found her still fiancé already married to another woman. That was her breaking point. She broke off the engagement and ran off to briar valley, where she then applied to be a librarian at NRC.

Why doesn’t Vil like her at first?

Think of it from Vil’s perspective: Your father, a rich and successful man, starts dating your school’s librarian, a woman half his age and has been known to have had an alcohol addiction in the past and is a struggling author. Not too good of a look on Eliza’s end. Not to mention that I think Vil gets off put by Eliza’s seemingly self-pitying behavior, and since she’s not going to spill her trauma to a bunch of students, Vil doesn’t know why and it may come off as attention seeking. I wouldn’t say Vil tries to sabotage their relationship but he definitely does not want them seen together in public. He’s happy for his dad, yes, but he just doesn’t trust that Eliza could handle the paparazzi or that she has good intentions. He ends up coming around to her and ends up clinging to her but their relationship definitely started rocky.
